Bag Seed Hunting & The Lst Adventure

The backwards seedling is starting to come alive. This morning. Now. I may have the bag off by the end of the day.

The seedling whisperer, nice work. I would have undoubtedly broke the poor little guy

LOL I lost a runt on my 1st grow from fussing with it too much.

I've learned since then.
We all start somewhere.

A gentle touch when it comes to seedlings is imperative. As you've learned they are quite fragile.

I also use coco mulch [bark] 50/50. This comes compresed I break off what I think I will need and soak in Ca ph water.
Then I mix the 2 fill the pots and plant. Drench real well with veg food set up drip and forget it. I watch my runoff and adjust the timer accordingly. I don't rinse the H&G. I will have to look to see if it is precharged. I'm on my first full flower cycle with this method. And second veg.
I like the mulch because of the big chunks. I don't want to use perlite or grow stones. I want to be able to dump this in my veggie garden and not have all that stuff in it.

Did that answer your question?
Yes indeed. Thanks for taking the time. :) I'm wanting to go with coco real bad however it is something I havent ever run and am a tad leery as I dont know shit about it other than most folks claim it inceases yeilds over soil media.

Who is the local coco guru slaying it around here? or can anyone point me to a thread so I can read and leanr running coco cause I am heading in that direction. Thanks again bro.

Yea I roughed one up getting her shell off and she ended up losing a cotyledon. Pretty sure that helped her die from damping off

I'm running coco but I have no idea what I'm doing lol

@jumpincactus I ran coco for a while and liked it a lot, am by no means an expert. It's quite a bit easier than soil imo. I prefer the loose precharged/washed stuff, it is more expensive but removes a lot of potential issues. Mix in some perlite, you want a really airy mix that dries quickly; you are shooting for needing to water at least daily. Omit perlite if you want to water less, but that diminishes the hydro - esque yields. 6 is a great ph level to run at, 5.7 to 6.2 is good but I got better performance by staying at the high end. Use calmag. One to three gallon containers are a good size, I used bigger pots but with a small amount of coco in each, really liked the wider base for the plants.

I will PM you to keep this thread about the OP's stuff. Will be getting close by next run. Im sure I'll have questions for ya. Sorry @rmoltis for getting off track. I did after all learn that from you. :p Doh!!!

Today's seedling street is brought to you in part by @thunderfudge .
They are under the t5's. And only 4 bulbs out of 8 are turned on. They are pampered by mixed spectrum as spec'd earlier in this thread.

The one on the right was the seedling that had emerged backwards. It has been having a hard time but is making progress.

It looked good on last update. I took the humidity bag off if it after a day or 2. Then it dried up one cotyledon and fell off. The 1st leave sets were affected somehow? They were white and green. After a few days it looks like it is recovering and trying to push out new somethings lol. I mist watered their soil right before pics sorry.

I'll laugh when the runt becomes the strongest grower haha. Through adversity we are strengthened:cool:
