It would be nice to not have to use pH up as much to make the large pH swing from 4 pH up to 6.5. I'm only halfway trough your 1st grow and enjoying every post! I have to say i never saw before any one having to fight soil soo much to keep it from having...

I have to say i never saw before any one having to fight soil soo much to keep it from having too low pH ! Almost everyone has high pH problems!

From what i understand pH UP is formulated for Hydroponics because you need the reservoir to be buffered.

In soil you can just add some Baking soda, pH and adjust...

In general, for soil pH Down = Lemon juice / pH UP = Lime, dolimite, baking soda, or go to the pharmacy and get yourself a bottle of calcium pills and dissolve one in your water.

I try to avoid the baking soda as it is Sodium Bicarbonate and the plants in general don't need much sodium so it is going to end in build up...

Also the addition of Calcium acidifies the water and the medium thus lowers the pH...

In any case aerating your water + Nutes will develop beneficial aerobic bacteria, they help breaking down the soil at molecular level and mineralizing the elements in the form the plant likes them, however if you aerate the water + Nutes at a pH too high, once they are in your soil and the pH drops the bacteria you introduced will die... You want to brew bacteria @ ph 5.8 - 68 these are the ones that make things happen for the plants.

I think I've found my 1st elite cut.

The vigor,
the overwhelming roots filling every transplant pot,
the flowers stacking trichomes on the fan
Her response to the different spectrum environments and developing sugar leaves before the buds have fully grown in.

I don't think I'll need to pop anymore seeds for a bit. If I can get my cutting in soil to root I'll be running single runs of her for a bit. She seems very promisimg.

It's my humidity dome with breather hole. She has been in it between 1-2 weeks. She was plucked during flower.

Her top fan leaves showing new green growth is promising. I'm just not a pro with soil cloning. Figured I'd try my hand at it.

I hope she makes it.

Revegging a clone can be a tad tricky. Never done it in soil. Ahh you got it. No worries.

Shes looking happy! I just did my first try with cloning in my coco mix along side of rapid rooters and got the same results from both. As far as her making it, shes in good hands, i have no doubts.

hahahaha man! Never gets old looking at those branches. Perfectly lines up. In one of the pics the buds are even lined up horizontally from branch to branch.

So I've been thinking lately that the reason I get deficiencies in flower is because the plants daily light intake I so much higher than it needs.


So last grow and this grow I been working on pushing these nutes harder. And all gals this round have been fed every watering. Last couple feeds have been 1.5x feed.

This round I've mixed a double strength feed and I'm gonna keep it at 2x until I see signs otherwise.

The beast is huge and requires a lot of food. It's clone is already having lower leafs being eaten even at 1.5x feed. So. I hope all I've been needing is more food. This is the round to find out.

Last feeding I poured the extra .5gallon in the beasts drip tray. And after a couple hours the beast and the 3 accent plants had soaked it all up.

I think my plants are just hungrier than the average plant.

Hard to satisfy a beasts hunger.
