Ok guys, here goes my 1st. hydro grow in a 4x4x80" Viparspectra tent & 450w 2 cycle lights soon to be daisy-chained. Popped 4 seeds two days ago into Jiffy pots 3" in Pro-mix potting soil, 80% peat w/perlite&coco. Here's a pic of a nice bud these seeds came from. Also my 1st. week under light for seedlings. Growing to the light 4" away as the temps here are 35-45 outside, 70% humidity. All starts well so far. Temp at pots is 68-70 degrees. Will transfer to 3 gal material pots in a week or so.

I would give them 2 or 3 weeks b4 transplant. In a week the roots will have barely started to grab the coco. You want the roots to have a good hold on the media b4 transplant.

Yeah, and you’ll see a root or two in those holes in the bottom, give it about another week or so after you see them.

Thanks guys, it's a great forum for new growers and old alike, the sharing is top-notch! I grew in my youth without any help or knowledge usually outside, no buds, well it was Laughable really. Keep comin back, the 4 have all sprouted & I'll get a pic this morning to show Day 4-5 of my bagseed 1st. Coco run. If Madmax can do this surely I can manage with a tent, lights & nutes.

Canuck's, gotta like em, they showed America about Cannabis legalization, lol. Just do It! I am just starting my 1st. Coco/perlite grow in 3" Jiffy cups, see thread. Sorry to crash the thread, I wanted to know if my starter media is a good one?4 weeks to transplant into 3 gal material bags into tent.

Looks like your in good hands over here with the early birds in your thread. Everything looks good man. Don't rush the Up potting...let em get solid roots underneath...I learned from up potting too early...you end up with medium crumbling in your hand and a spindly stem with few roots on it.. Then your behind the 8 ball for the whole grow.

I'm going to come along for the ride. Grow some monsters eh!

All this forum needs is togetherness and we have it with MIM'd. Aqua, Chemistry, many more. I am in day 4 of seeds popping, in Pro-mix 3" Jiffy's, stretching for the light. Should I add media to the bottoms of the stems now, they are a good 3" to 4" tall this morning on the coastal bend,Texas.

Hopefully you have your light down far enuff to slow the stretching, you could add more media, I think you could add some skewers and ties to help them as well. Maybe some air moving lightly to make them move a bit for gaining strength.

Look for 4000-5000k color temp for seedlings. That looks like 2500-3000k?

Spectrum really affects the stretching.

Yeah next time ya buy a compact florescent just look at the Kelvin rating. 4000-5000k will help keep them from stretching. Cool white instead of warm white

Well, after turning the 3" jiffy pots my plants begin to reach again, I don't want to "stake them" until another week if possible so I introduced they to my tent with a fan for so wind. Yesterday they enjoyed it so much I will keep the young shoot in the tent room now on, still just RO water not too much, a 12 oz. bottle a day for four youngsters. Thanks for the advise & views. Pic to come.

I was barely awake when I last posted, I don't use 12 oz. RO water a day, maybe 1/2 to 3/4 12 oz. Anyway they seem to like the blue light in the Viparspectra reflector series 450w. I will "daisy-chain" a twin for veg & flower soon. Got some Root Royale 50L bag and 5 three gal material bags coming from GrowAce. Tried to get some DynaGrow but they pulled it off my order, may just do GH Trio instead w/CalMag plus? My neighbor uses Dyno something in his grows, he gets better seeds than my bagseed. Cheers!

Ok, day 9. These pics are from Day 8 under blue & white led 30" away. 78-80 degrees days, 70 degree to 67 nights, 18/6 light schedule. Root Royale 50L and 5 3 gal. material bags are here. Should or do I need to let the coco coir breathe or pre mix my bags so soon? I have about 3 more weeks in 3" Jiffy pots before transplant? Seedling porn anyone?

Day 12-13 and time is going fast, seems like I lost a day or two, oh well It may be this Indica bagseed that I an Growing & Smoking, little Popcorn buds in the oz I bought for $65.00, Anyway got some rain water and am seeing how my plants react to it as my lower leaves are yellowing and droop. If my grow matches the power of the Popcorn buds I am toking I'll be happy. Do they look like Indica plants to you guys?

Day 16 for seedlings maturing slowly till I started Nutes 2 days ago. This Humbolt Oneness is so far impressive to me, the plants got their 2nd nodes and are much more bushy.2-3ml per gallon micro dosed from spray bottle I use at night at lights off for foliar dressing. Morning feeding at 6:00 am. Cheers.
