Banana OG / Platinum Cookies First Time Grow

Had to raise the light a bit more they are sitting at around 1050ppfd center of canopy. I assume that puts my average around 900. Have the Gavita’s at full power and just upped the UV light on 5 hours a day.

I had some orage dots appear. Cant tell if its from my medium being blown or its pest?

Day 27

Buds starting to fill in! A few sits have some orange hairs. Ive been a little scared. They are mostly near the fan could it be from that? Also my medium pH is low and EC is high so I am trying to balance that out. Tops grew into the light a bit so I raised them a bit more today. Center PPFD reading just under 1100.

Thoughts on the orange hairs?

Dont u have weak light? They elongated quite a lot.

I had the light a little too far up and dimmed in Veg but for flower I had turned it up and lowered. Starting tracking ppfd as well.

The hairs could be due to light?

Could be because of strain, change of pistils so early. But u have pretty thin stems, wasnt u adding silisic acid?

If its not bleaching or leaves losing green colour its ok. Maybe add more magnesium with stronger light.

I d do another scrog and cover whole tent.

Yeah i was using Rhino Skin potassium silicate. I stopped last week 3

Day 28!

Buds are filling in so nice! I am noticing growth daily! The plants really make me feel great in this stage. Smells starting to come out!

The buds with orange hairs are stressing me out. I cant tell if they hermied or not. Getting my loupe in the mail today to check if the tricombs are maturing. Hope all is well!

I just fed with 6.5 ph and runoff came up to 5.7 and EC dropped to 2.1 so I am finding the range. I think! Lol


Getting my veg tent setup next week! New strain coming soon! Also going to do 6 plants this next run to make more room in the tent.

I chopped a herm today. I've been growing out some hermspawn trying to find one of the phenos it came from and so far half the seeds have hermed. It's an exercise in futility but I don't have very many seeds left to go through.

Thank you so much Jadin! I hope you are right! I was having some salt buildup issues but I diluted my nutes some more and bumped up my ph and my runoff looked a lot better today.

Super excited for the veg tent Ill start another grow journal for that strain.

Just did a major defoliation getting ready for week 5!

Defoliated! I also moved the fans all along the canopy so now there is plenty of airflow going through! Hoping to pack on some heavy weight!

Day 30!

Getting frostyyy! I leveled out the canopy with risers and raised the light all the way up. Its dimmed down a bit to compensate for the raise but im pretty much at full power 90% and my highest buds are 6” from the led.

Got the colors coming in! Still trying to correct my pH. Pushing a lot of runoff but I cant get up past 5.7. Been feeding 6.5 pH last few feedings gona continue to do so. EC seems to be within range. Plants showing slight browning of the edges of leaves in few areas.

Buds were already a bit foxtaily and after a feeding with overdrive it seems to have it on more bud sites. Temps remained low 73/74 deg.

Having trouble keeping hum down at night. Idk if one of my dehu’s went out or its just too cold for it to pull moisture.

3 days into flush! Platinum lookin frosty. Banana looking as good as she could given my first time growing fkups.

Learned a lot though and will apply for next run. Transplanting/watering/flipping at the right time mostly and dropping night temps and lowering plant height. All this I believe I can improve. Still dont know the exact reason of the foxtailing. Im sure its a combination of those.


Also since my roots didnt establish well, I had root issues week 4-5 on. Gotta dial in my drybacks.

Foxtailing is a genetic trait imo. I’ve got strains that do and strains that don’t, all other variables are constant so it’s got to be genetic.

Nice grow buddy. Yeah there’s things a person could do differently but you’ve got bud in the bank. That’s the whole point of growing

Cant seem to drop my hum below 50-51 should I deleaf a bit?
