Fsr Red is all the way right on spectral charts, 700nm and beyond, most peaking at 730-760nm infrared/IR

Far blue is all the Way left on chart, 405 and below 345nm-405nm ultraviolet/UV

Uv doesn't drive photosynthesis, but stimulates secondary mechanisms. Resin, disease resistance, etc. far red does in fact drive photosynthesis a good bit while also stimulating others secondary mechanisms, like metabolism, shade avoidance, Emerson effect, etc

With implementing far red you can extend flowering lights on to around 13.5 hours,. You give it far Red 20 minutes before light's off and let it's run 5-15 minutes after light's off and the plant immediately starts producing florigen instead of the normal 2 hours or so after light's off. So the plant reaches trigger and maintenance levels of flowering hormones much sooner in lights off cycle
Appreciate the info, thanks. đź’Ż
I run UV, IR, and Deep Red.

UV I start out in middle to late veg running 5 mins every 1 hour. After a few weeks of flowering, I increase to 10 mins per hour.

IR, I run 15 mins before lights on and 15 mins after lights off

Deep Red runs all day when main lights are on during flower.

I know red in veg can cause more stretching in plants while blue will keep them shorter.
Idk if far red and far blue do the same or not.

A good cheap alternate is running 2 of the ion board s22 in a 2x4.$ 200 vs $ 350.

As far as I know, the red spectrum is also measured quantitatively. White diodes have a deficiency of the red spectrum. Compensated by increasing light intensity. Red is responsible for indicators of quality but not quantity. In a study of white diodes, gas discharge lamps and narrow spectral LEDs, the effectiveness of white diodes was proven. At this time, Samsung had just announced the release of 301b. All statements are valid until the next large-scale study. Do you have links to large-scale studies and comparisons after 2017? LEDs with 100 lumens per watt have proven efficiency. Imagine the effectiveness of plain white 301?)

Light is like air, more light means more red as well. More air means more co2. The case when the plant does not have time to exhaust its supply. The comparison may not be very accurate, but it’s more convenient to understand what’s going on here. Before increasing co2, try not to lose it. And how much light light-loving plants need is indicated in the encyclopedia. Make allowances for the sun, where 50% of the spectrum is invisible to the eye. This will be the optimal lighting. In Russia they say: the best is the enemy of the good.

I'll say more. The ideal use of LEDs in terms of resource savings and electricity prices is separate lamps. LEDs have different characteristics. The current is not optimal for everyone. Which causes heat loss instead of a real increase in glow. If the rated currents are violated due to an increase in temperature, the spectrum also shifts. Artificial light is 3 colors and no magic) it would be also good to calculate distant spectra, but I don’t know how

What are the best lights on the market for a 2x4 or 4x4 tent right now?
I like the ViparSpectra XS 2500. It's basically two XS1500 Pros connected together and running from the same driver. The driver can be outside the tent and the light level can be managed from an AC Infinity controller with an adapter. It works well in a 2x4 tent with a plant under each side.

This light is new to me. I'm flowering two plants that vegged in a different tent. So far, it's good.

Far blue actually keep the plant shorter I like to run far red during veg as well because personally I think these plants stay a little bit too compact under LEDs like keeping my mother's I like to have a little bit of stretch in them just makes for better clones.

I do the same thing with the UV and IR how you're doing it and the far red.

Only difference is I run the IR a little bit throughout the growth cycle as well because I like the little bit of heat and metabolism stimulation they give again this is all new to me running these supplemental lights in these schemes as well it's new to the actual scientific horticultural community so we're actually doing the leg work for them implementing it in grows across the country reporting our results 🤜🤛

Yeah that's exactly why I add all the supplements to it you need that extra heat when growing with LED if not you get all kind of deficiencies in calcium and magnesium.

Adding supplemental IR in deep red and UV make those problems disappear overnight in my experience

The effectiveness of lighting fixtures as a heater depends on the ambient temperature, you should not be misled that they heat something, most likely poor air exchange
