you are not supposed to use blacklights bro. you can see you plants are becoming very stringy. also becoming light green. this is because they are not getting the right light. soon they will fall over and die. you can still make a come back if you get the right light in there soon enought. CFL lights will work as long as they are NOT blacklights.

i have never heard of anyone using a black light to grow anything. where did you get the idea for that? what were you plan on using to flower them? i hope not just the cfl's you are talking about as that would not help you when it comes to flowering ya know

Hey those are dead. I got some new sproutlings. there is a 42 watt CFL on them too with the blacklights . When in flower I'm going to replace the bulbs with full colored floros. Got a purple plant light to use too.

dont use the blaclkite. put the cfls real close to the plants and u r good to go.

:fighting0040:I think it will make the THC go up so I'm going to switch up bulbs every week or so for people like me and people like you. I'm going to test in inches how much it grows each week with the blacklight and without so stay tuned in ...

Okay I got 5 sproutlings. They are from two or three different bud so there is diversity in my growroom. Still 77 watts, 35 more watts than my last grow so I am anxious to see how these turn out compared to my first grow at the top of the thread. May the force be with you... :fighting0040:

black light will have no effect on your plants your wasting power. IMO you can get a 150 watt metal halide hood/ballast complete system fo $86 at my hydroshop. not being a dick but if you like weed to smoke and you got $60 to blow on Modern warfare 2 then you can afford to get a real light cuz that blacklight and couple cfl's will make you cry when you waste 90 days on 3 grams of yield. like I said not being a dick just like to see people get what there looking for

WIKI ANSWERS- Black light is, essentially, another form of UVA light, similar to fluorescent light which isn't so different from natural "white" sunlight. Theoretically it shouldn't affect it too much, but I also know that chlorophyll (the material that makes plants appear green) is at least partially fluorescent, and supposedly it glows red under black light with the right conditions. I've never personally seen a plant grown only with black light, but if anything it would change the color, not the actual ability to grow.
