Should've showed a pic of the yellowing one... If your in living soil then my guess is that it's early maturing. Highly unlikely that something has gone wrong with it if the others in the same soil are doing fine. How do the hairs look? Can you check the trichome heads with a lil scope?

Baby smell my fingers! lmao guilt of saying that at least a hundred times, and yes in the same situation as yours. I've seen bodhi describe the PT as "tropical fruits and citrus on a bed of brown sugar." Sounds like your right on track!! Cinnamon is damn close. That's awesome man. I just recently found my first maple syrup flavored gal and it has instantly become my favorite, that flavor really rocks my world, couldn't be happier for you.

Btw, everything is gorgeous. Really nice job.

That's right! Toooootally forgot about that "brown sugar" description by Bodhi, despite the fact that I've read his "Breeder's Description" on Breedbay like a thousand times haha. But that is EXACTLY what it smells like. Woke up this morning and could still smell it all over my hands, even though I washed them and moisturized them before I went to sleep (yeah, I moisturize my hands before bed, so what? Haha). But yeah, I just read that description by B the other day and was thinking,"Brown sugar? What? I'm not getting that at all...." Yet here we are, a week later and that's exactly what it smells like.

I didn't show pics of the yellowing one because one: my girl had yesterday off and was in a drinking and smoking mood (she NEVER drinks and really only smokes when I shotgun her hits), so we had some people over and got lit as a motherfucker. By the time I was all showered and ready to get in the tent, I was just barely able to even hold the camera up at all haha.

And two, what you said: I think it's just a very fast-finishing pheno. Which is odd, just because I thought it'd take at least nine weeks to be done, even with the 11/13 schedule they've been on. I don't know shit, but I'd think that the Lemon Thai-leaning phenos of PT would take longer than the Appalachian-leaning ones. But yeah, I looked at it last night and decided that it was indeed just finishing up; the yellowing isn't some sort of deficiency or "problem" (yes, I'm capable of drinking waaaaaayyyyy too much and still making rational decisions haha). As a matter of fact, the only plants that don't look like they'll be done really soon are the Goldstars, so.... Yeah. Happy day, I guess haha!

Yeeeesh, woke up about an hour ago, still drunk from last night. So glad I don't get hangovers, but I'm not sure if any of what I just typed makes sense haha!

Looking fantastic.

Thank you! Get down to SoCal so we can check this shit out!

Gotta say, smoked a j of the quick-dried no cure Apollo the other night with my friend Natalie and it blew our minds. She's vegan (but cool as shit; I know being "cool" and being vegan is kind of an oxymoron haha), only smokes when she hangs with me, but she swung by the house yesterday and couldn't stop talking about how good the Apollo we blazed at her birthday dinner was. And I have to agree with her. It's fucking bomb. Chopping them tonight, can't wait to see what they're like with a proper dry and cure.

Sorry, y'all, just looked over the last few days of my posts on this log and realized I've mentioned the Apollo j I smoked the other night like 18 times haha. Bad memory, I guess. Or too lit. Or something. But yeah, sorry for repeating myself.

I really need to start editing this shit a little better....

Secondly, the Lemon Thai-leaning Prayer Tower isn't looking so good. Basically, all of the leaves have turned yellow. Started in the middle of the plant but has now spread pretty much throughout.
IME two things can cause that. Heat and K-. During summer I watch all the younger madrone yellow from the inside out when it gets really hot. I no longer trip out when my plants do it at the same time, I know it's the heat. I don't dig it, but neither do I trip. It's been pretty warm up here, how about down there?

Oh, and FUCK V DAY. It's one of my detested holidays, right down there with Halloween.

In order, #1 almost finished (another week, maybe two)
#2 finished, chop that bitch.
#3 almost finished, maybe 3 weeks out?
#4 almost finished.
#5 almost finished.

Looking pretty good, and I don't see that inner yellowing you posted about.

Yeah, I was shocked that my girl was so, uh, whatever about V Day. But yeah, she was pissed yesterday morning that I didn't do anything to acknowledge that fake-ass "holiday." And she's super-chill, but I finally had to say,"I worked my ass off for twelve hours yesterday on three hours of sleep, so, uh, you're gonna have to get over the fact that I didn't do anything and fell asleep at eleven." Whatever. She got over it.

Re: tripping out on the yellowing: yeah, I'm not gonna do that haha. For real, though, I was kind of freaking out about it, but when I looked at that particular plant last night, even in my extremely inebriated state, I could tell it wasn't a big deal. I really do think it's just finishing up, albeit much quicker than I anticipated. It's definitely not heat-related, even though it's been hot as shit down here the last few days. My room's completely blacked out and the sun is still south enough that it isn't blasting the room with heat (three months from now is gonna be a whole 'nother story....). Temps haven't gotten over 80 in the tent and that's with my thermometer hanging basically right next to the light. It could be (and likely is, if you say so) a K deficiency, but they didn't yellow from the inside out. It was literally, like, one day they were all green, the next they were all yellow.

I dunno. But like I said, I'm over this grow, in the very best way possible. I think everything's gonna be okay. Yields might be a little on the light side, but other than that.....

And btw @Seamaiden that invitation to @Bulldog11 about getting down here and sampling this shit is obviously extended to you, as well. Obviously. Obviously. Obviously.... Haha.

Oaky, finally off from work, having a quick drink or three, then I'm gonna head home and chop the Apollos and, on the advice of @Seamaiden figure out whatever plant that was in the second pic and chop that one, too.

Anybody wanna chime in with a preferred method of drying and curing? It's very dry in LA right now, so the humidity level in my room is relatively low. I'm thinking of just hanging the whole plant, not trimming anything. Seems to me that that would be the best way to avoid the plants drying out too quickly. And I have a couple humidifiers just in case. But yeah, any input y'all wanna provide re: drying will not fall on deaf ears. Or deaf eyes. Or, er, somethin'...

Buy tall cardboard boxes, poke some holes near the top and run lines with w/e string to hang the buds near the top, but not too close so you can't close the top. You can then open and close the top flaps depending on how fast/slow you want to dry. This works awesome for me especially in the bone dry winters in MI that can super dry my buds if I'm not careful.

I try to get them to dry for min of 7 days. When the stems are semi brittle but don't snap, I cut it off the stems and jar it up. If you wait to long to cure it will dry out too much and then there's no turning back, unless you buy those humidity packs. Putting it in the jar slightly early isn't a bad thing, you can just burp the jar for an hour the next day and it will dry out the last bit.

One man's opinion, have fun trimming!

I do re-humidify when and where needed. I don't know if I'm really degrading the product, I can't tell and neither can others who use it. But that said, I agree that it's better to do it right the first time. If you have room those closet boxes could work out really well. You may need to add humidity to them near the end, a damp towel or similar works well to slow it down in a small space.

So I am going to speak on a more commercial level, but here is my cure game.

I hang plants whole, or by large branches. Don't trim the leaves. This allows a slower cure, and less infection from bacteria and molds. Think butchering a pig. Would you want a thousand little cuts (clipping leafs) or just one large cut to drain the blood? Why? Less room for infection.

I keep my entire dry room at 50%-60%. Ideally, if harvested all at once, I like to keep the RH around 50% for three days. Then 55% for 3 more days. Then 60% till fully dried. This will take about 10-14 days depending on strain, however you could leave it for months and it will remain nicely dried if you can keep the room around 60% RH.

Most people have multiple harvests, so in that case, I keep the RH around 50% the entire time. When the leaves get a little crunchy (7-10days) I like to bin the plant, leaves, branches and nugs together. Burp this until the nugs reach 60%, then close up and burp a couple times a week. You can keep your product in these bins as long as you like, then trim them when you're ready.

Hope this helps brother. Stoked to see we are talking about harvesting. Keep up the hard work, both at work and in the garden.

I find myself wondering, how many pigs have you butchered? I did pigs for a while when I was a kid, I trained them for slaughtering day. Well, those that I had time to train. You can't train piglets.

LOL, calling me out again......Zero. I don't even know the butchering process. I do however know that more flowers come up failed for microbial testing when wet trimmed. I have heard others speak on this as well. I think it holds water.

Other than my lame attempt at describing a butchered pig, what do you think about this theory? @Seamaiden

I do it exactly the way you do. I really prefer both the results achieved with this kind of slow dry & cure, but it's HUGELY easier in terms of time and energy for me. HUGELY.

I was gonna talk a little pig witchya, guess not! :p

Pigs have about as much blood in 'em as chickens, which is to say, not very much. It's very weird. We just did three birds a couple of weeks ago, so I have slaughtering on my mind. And pot pie. :D

@Bulldog11 You know @Seamaiden be killing chickens and shit, right? Haha! No lie, she fucking knows how to literally butcher shit. She's a BEAST haha. I don't think I could kill a chicken with my own hands....

But maybe I could. Chickens weird me out.

Anyway...

So I cut the three Apollos last night (took a shitload of pics before I did, gonna post them shortly). I just hung them whole, didn't chop or trim anything at all.

And @hiiipower A cardboard box? Really? Kinda wish I'd have thought of that because, uh, I just bought a whole 'nother tent, another Vortex, carbon filter etc etc. spent like $600 just to dry these plants. But I'm gonna need that later for cloning, mother plants and whatever all else later. But yeah, a cardboard box definitely sounds cheaper than what I did haha!

Pics coming shortly.

I was wondering the same thing hahaha!!! I was like,"Jesus, Sea's talking to me about killing her chickens, Bulldog's talking about killing pigs..... What the hell are y'all doing up in NorCal....?" hahaha!!!
