I went to the dispensary here in NY, I went and bought the highest potency available.

I found I like my own stuff better, the high was better, longer lasting, had more PUNCH, just way more SOLID of a buzz.

However, I find the density of the Dispensary buds to be suspect, I also find the smell to be suspect and the flavor is pretty amazing... but, once I found out how they get that flavor....... "a friend of mine who has a friend who runs an illegal dispensary"... Said that they treat the shit before it goes out the door.

Spray it down with a little bit of whatever type of terpene that you can buy in concentrate form from AMAZON.

Yeah this drove me to grow my own as well. I only started seeing the PGR stuff within the last few years in my area. Before that it wasn’t anything common but now it’s all I see so I don’t buy from anyone anymore.

This is brand new to me.
I have been reading the thread and beginning to understand now
I wondered about some of that dispensary herb.
When you buy some, the 1st 2 days seem good then nothing from it plus the taste sucked.
All I was aware of was EDTA in liquid fertilizers.
This makes sense as why organic is better.

I’m 98% sure these were grown with unhealthy PGR’s. They have an odd smell along with a lemon type scent, and a little “fecal” smell mixed in. Spongy feel almost like never dried all the way.

What do you guys think based off the pics? Dense and spongy. Not machine trimmed.

It’s good to watch out for it. There are pics and descriptions online if you google PGR bud. It’s good to be aware of stuff like this because some of them can be dangerous, and otherwise it’s low quality crappy bud.

Just to chime in with my .02 cents on the topic, while a lot of dispensaries, especially medical, are usually tested for things like PGRs and other potentially harmful chemicals, one practice I've seen over the years that definitely effects potency is the fact that a lot of dispensaries are harvesting prematurely.

When you're a commercial grower (which I was for years, underground mostly, some above board as well) they typically go for quantity over quality. They're not like you and I, looking at trichomes and harvesting accordingly. A lot of the buds sold at dispensaries aren't cured properly, either.

So if it's potency you're concerned about, it's not necessarily because PGRs were used. It's usually due to poor harvest/curing techniques. They want turnover as fast as possible and usually sacrifice quality for this reason. As long as it looks and smells good, and gets sold quickly, that's all most of them care about.

That’s true. Although I’m not concerned about lack of potency as much as bad chemicals in the buds (But from dispensary it should be tested if they are licensed).

I see
The way the dispensarys are cashing in, I made assumptions that that is how they were operated.
I didn't know that the states oversee their operations.
