Cali Med Patients Fucked? Maybe we all are!
The best breakdown I’ve seen yet! I’ve been researching the web, Googling my ass, off trying to make sense of our new Cali law and finally found a breakdown I think puts some of it in perspective; I’d like to share that with you now.

Are we Medical Patients fucked in Cali? Read it all..sounds to me like “back underground” most people will go. Weed prices may skyrocket, and the Black Market flourish.

This was jammed through the legislature without anyone being allowed to read the final text. It violates many of the provisions in our voted in Prop 215 and some of those can only be changed by another public vote. I think we have a lot of work ahead of us and the State agencies will not get this all in place and understood for years. It will cost our state millions in administration fees. Puff puff pass…

SB 643 ANALYSIS AND BREAKDOWN. WHAT DOES IT DO?

by Mickey Martin Sep 13, 201

“So I have went through line by line and tried to explain exactly what SB 643 does and how it will work. My comments are bullet points in bold italics. I was going to do all of the laws together, but this is a lot to absorb; so SB 643 is the first of the three laws I will analyze and break down. Stay tuned for AB 266 next, followed by AB 243.

This is comprehensive stuff, and I do my best to interpret the law in the simplest terms possible so you understand what we are up against. It is going to be quite the undertaking, and will certainly create classes of winners and losers. The best advice I can give you is to get started early, expecially if you need to secure local approvial. Mickey Martin Consulting will be taking on 100 quality clients to help them navigate the maze. If you are interested in our services contact me at [email protected]; or visit my site at www.mickeymartinconsulting.com.

Without further ado, here is your SB 643 Breakdwon and Analysis.... Enjoy.”

I think Cali is too dependent on the revenue to go back. With all the financial problems, & the studies of places like Portugal (all drugs decriminalized for almost 15 years now. Studies show no significant change in drug use) I think legalization is just a matter of time.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/17/economists-marijuana-legalization_n_1431840.html

The problem in my opinion is the way many of the places operate. I think the places like MA & ME are the ones doing it right. Limited dispensaries, low key, not a lot of "noise" around it.

Cali & Colorado, from what I have seen in many places, there are 20 dispensaries in a single town. They are like Dunkins or Starbucks. If you want to make this work, you have to work with the opposition. & you can be pretty convincing with the evidence we have (It's not dangerous, they would make a ton of money, it doesn't harm adults).

What the opposition will really push back hard on is if it's in their face. They might be ok with you doing your thing in your home...& not bothering them. But in some of those places, it's all you see.

When you do that, you have created a strong, visceral opposition. It no longer matters what the issue is. A porn shop, Gay-centric store, race related etc. It can be anything that the public, en masse, can cope with, but doesn't want it so much visible representation of it.

The issue isn't the fact that it's cannabis. It's the fact that the majority of people don't want it represented so prominently in their community. The movements need to play this smart.

I also don't see how/why they are going to enforce a "plant squad." What an absolutely stupid thing to do. It's a plant for goodness sake. Then only thing I can see is that they are trying to make up for jobs lost with less MJ convictions. The biggest lobbying opposition (just my suspicion) is the jail builders.

really what I get out of it is that Gov Brown is gearing up for 2016 when it will be legalized...most of that stuff really didn't touch on Med Patients...it is all industrial grow ops...licenses..etc....I don't see how med patients are fucked...I see more of those peeps that are growing on a huge scale are screwed...I can still grow my plants and use my meds...nothing changes for me

by the way it won't take effect until 2017....probably when Ca Legal will take effect....I actually like the fact that they are creating an enviroment where you have to be inspected and product has to be inspected prior to sales...that means no more pesticides and whatnot and as long as I am not selling my stash/profit I am good...as a caretaker you now will have to be licensed and your shit inspected....which I personally think is good....if u don't like all this then you can grow it yourself...if u can't then you know your caretaker has a watchdog....just my 2 pennies
