Next time you're in the area hit me up. We can take some kayaks out to the springs and tributaries at Homosassa. It's remarkable. If you go in the winter months you'll see lots of manatees in the crystal clear waters.I've driven through a lot of Florida and some of the prettiest country I've seen was in the north west somewhere about 1/2 way from Tallahassee to Orlando. With compass in hand we were zigzagging through a place with a ton of small lakes Oak trees and trees with the Spanish moss low hanging on the trees. It was like when you know you're in a park its just too beautiful not to be.......I've looked on Google maps many times over trying to find it again but I've yet to locate it...I know almost where but its elusive........It had water moccasin written all over it though.
lol,,,70 my knees don't do kayaks any more...Used to Canoe a lot in my 20's . An air boat in the Glades down south again would be cool though.Next time you're in the area hit me up. My wife and I supposed to go to clear water at the end of april.do you know what's going on with the red tide, heard it was bad this year.i was wondering if we should head to the east coast of Florida instead of keeping our reservations on the gulf side.Next time you're in the area hit me up. The red tide has flared up a bit this year. I just checked https://myfwc.com/research/redtide/statewide/ and it actually looks a lot better than the last few weeks. It's still red in the clearwater area but it has gone down to no measurement around Sarasota where it was bad recently. Given that, I would keep an eye on it but it should be gone by then. I hope so anyway because that's about the time the water is getting nice again and I start going back to the beach. I'm getting ready now to head out to a music festival in St. Pete and it's right on the water. I'll let you know how it is down there. My wife and I supposed to go to clear water at the end of april.do you know what's going on with the red tide, heard it was bad this year.i was wondering if we should head to the east coast of Florida instead of keeping our reservations on the gulf side.

Another great resource for checking beach conditions is visitbeaches.org
Yeah, but he's medically retired and the winter hurts his body... and we're not even 40 yet, doubt that will improve lol.Isn’t Florida considered the national old folks home?
Which part of Florida do you live in? Tell me some positives about it! I've heard a lot of negatives too... that's why I'm hesitant to seriously consider it...What I'm noticing from the comments is a proclivity towards negativity. Don't completely ignore negative things but always embrace the positive ones. If I wanted to I'm sure I could have a field day picking apart all the negative aspects of any place where people live. I have no interest in doing that. I would much rather go build something, take a trip, or go spend all weekend basting in the vibes of a Reggae music festival like I'm doing starting today. Go do good things!
Aww I'm so sorry! Losing a fur baby is so hard.Hey folks
If I am helping you or you are tagging me and I’m not responding just gimme a couple of days.
I took my house cat to be spayed ten days ago. Wed she started acting funny, called vet he gave me pain meds and antibiotics to shoot her up with, told me if she was not improved by today bring her in. Long story short, bobcat fever, and she was put down.
My heart is broke and I’m tired and crabby. So, give me a couple of days and I’ll be back creating havoc like all the other days.
Very sorry to hear this.Hey folks

We moved to the suburbs of Tampa on Halloween of 2020. I'm looking to buy land just a bit south from here but still on the gulf side. I saw you said your husband has issues with cold and I can feel for that. I'm only 38 and my back decided it was going to nearly cripple me two years ago. Feel free to slide into my dms lol if you want to pick my brain on specifics on the good and bad of Florida from the perspective of a person who has lived in multiple different states.Which part of Florida do you live in? It's that Florida Man guy, who gets himself into the news all the time, isn't it?Which part of Florida do you live in? Tell me some positives about it! I've heard a lot of negatives too... that's why I'm hesitant to seriously consider it...
Yeah that dude doesn't help Florida's rep AT ALL.It's that Florida Man guy, who gets himself into the news all the time, isn't it?
I like Florida Man, because next in line for most unfavorable news coverage is Michigan Man. Takes a lot of heat off of us.
