Royal highness is another very good 1:1 aprox CBD to THC ratio. My best friend grows them even though I manage his grow for the most part. The trichome production is insane with up to 15% CBD and 15%+ THC for a whopping total of 30%+ cannabinoids which you wont find in many 1:1 strains.
CBD online is crap and homegrown CBD is pleasant to smoke but wont do much for pain, I agree with the comments you need to include some THC in there. My friend grows both CBD and 1:1 but the only one that helps him sleep is the 1:1, he has CBD mostly so he doesnt smoke too much 1:1 which could lead to you being sleepy all day every day.

CBD does nothing for my pain at all, I require thc dominant flower for that. Cbd has literally never done anything for any of my health conditions, I find it useless. But good luck with your pain, hope you find your varietal ✌️
Are you buying oils? As I think almost all of that is garbage. I’ve had good luck over the years with clones and then using in balms and gummies. (I grow/smoke sativa dominant strains, which can really bring on paranoia, so mixing in CBD counteracts the negative effects.)

My friend is the most sensitive person Ive seen with THC, you give him a couple of puffs and he's done. He gets pale, dizzy, nauseous... however with 1:1 none of that, he just relaxes, its really wonderful how CBD can indeed counteract the bad side effects of smoking THC. It will also mitigate the neurological damage. THC stimulates your brain while CBD does a bit of the opposite and also creates a neuroprotective barrier. THC on the other hand is thought to be neurodegenerative due to the over stimulation of the brain.

I don't buy anything I only use what I grow. The stuff in stores sucks and is overpriced IMO.
Sour space candy CBD is one that I have grown. It's is a potent CBD, but non THC varietal.
Also the sativa issue is from modern sativas, grow older ones and then they are smooth, no jitters or paranoia. tengu seedsis probably the only newer genetics that has some good sativas as well they breed extremely well for effects IMHO ✌️

One can always blend. We do that often, especially for tinctures. That said, the Royal Creamatic auto I mentioned on page one has a surprisingly nice blend of THC and CBD--about medium of each.

Well the 30% THC compared to 12% probably has a lot to do with it.
I think that is definitely part of it, older strains had cbd in them as well which is mostly bred out of the newer commercial stuff. Which used to balance out the THC, then the terps are the unique buzz/ unique medical benefits you get from them.
12% THC bud can still be great if it has the right other cannaboids and terps etc...
✌️

No joke. 25 years ago I could smoke a bowl and then go do a shift at work no problem. Stepped away for a long time, and sure tolerance went down, but now two hits and I'm blitzed.

Local dealer 12% weed vs dispensary 25% weed certainly has an impact, but also 12% THC/5% CBD will impact you very differently than 25% THC/0.2% CBD.

I’d recommend starting with a 1:1 CBD:THC strain – for many people, it’s the perfect balance between pain relief and mild mental relaxation without being too intense. If your pain is persistent but not severe, something like the options listed under these medical cannabis strains could be a good pick. And yeah, totally normal to feel like a newbie again with CBD – but it’s definitely worth exploring for the effects.

So I'm a 58 year old man with chronic back pain. No serious injury or anything just soreness related to stiff muscles and getting older. Up to this point I have only been growing high THC strains because my primary motive was getting high and hoping the medical benefits would follow but they don't seem to be helping my back. Looking through the various CBD seed catalogs I feel like a noob again, don't really know what I'm looking for. So my question is what would be best to try first, a high CBD low THC strain or something closer to 1;1. I already know the answer will probably be personal preference and what works for you so just looking for opinions to find a place to start. Love this hobby, always new roads to explore.
