#4 is the tallest and has the skinniest leaves of the 3.

Last but not least, is #6. She's leaning to the wider side with the leaf...is about midway in height between the other 2.... and is lookin like she'll make make a fuckin' CLUB for a top knot. (all of them are putting on nice buds) BAM......

All are in 2 gal pots so I should get a decent taste of each. So far they all smell similar....kinda reminds me of a Bubblegum I grew once......very sweet/juicy fruit type smell >>so far<<

centennial grow

Hello- Good to find this site... anyway I have three Django beauties under a 600 watt HPS setup. All organic supersoil mixture. So funny about your runt, I had one too. It turned out to be male. I am on day 11 of flower. I have been very aggressive with the cropping of these plants. Will get some pics up soon.

but let me correct something. The Lambsbread cut we bred to is the "Jamaica" from Hemcy Seed Co. I wish I had collected them myself from the Island, but the truth is far less romantic.

thank you for clearing that up. I heard that story from someone and thought it sounded pretty good. Don't want to spread false info. Amazing plant.:D

From my buddy alone's GJ on gc:

"Roughneck

Days away from harvest. Its at day 72 and Im just waiting for the trichs' to become 100 % cloudy. Almost there. It still smells like Juicy Fruit Gum. The Calax's are very swollen and hard. This plant had two tops and these pics are of both tops."

That pheno is quickly becoming my favorite. Thanks for the show, sky high :) -Crop

Some "21" coming on at 61 days. This is 1 of 4 remaining from a 64 plant mom hunt. Maybe my favorite so far :) -Crop

Looks like I'm about 47 days in on these gals. I'll be WAYYY surprised if they go anywhere near 70 days, but we shall see.

From early smell tests, the "runt' takes the cake. Spicy/juicy fruity/sweetness.

The clones are really rockin'. They'll slow a bit going from a 1 gal plastic pot to a 3 gal smart pot....but @ the rate they are growing it won't be much of a slowdown.

I sure hope these are some stoney fare. My luck growing "sativa" has been nil and these are the first sati-related seeds I've popped in a few years. At least it won't take 16 weeks to find out "yeah" or "Nay" on this one.

sure LOOK nice.... :bubblez:

Picked up the first batch of Roughneck from a local MMC, and it looks glorious. Some sativa-stretch but the flowers look amazing.

edit: These flowers came from the releaf center, an MMC that is emerging as a top-notch, patient friendly MMC.

Props to local growers using local genetics.

Can the breeder (Ben?) or the mmc share more info on this strain? Does it prefer hydro or soil? Nutrients, etc?

Thanks and happy thanksgiving!

CropReport, what camera are you using? My veho digi scope seems incapable of creating the pictures you post. Is the quality issue related to the equipment or the user in your opinion?

I have a Canon EOS Rebel maybe 10 years old. The trick is use daylight, a macro lens and a tripod. That way you can use slower shutter speeds without the camera shake.

I've been taking photos for 30+ years, so I suppose I'm more comfortable with a camera than most people.

As for the RN strain's likes and dis-likes, I've found it to be pretty easy to grow. It's a little sensitive to overfeeding in the early-veg stage, but once it takes off it will eat what you give it.

Late flower (week 6 on) magnesium should be supplemented using epsom salts.

I've not had a stretch problem, but I bend these early to redistribute the growth from the central leader to the lower canopy. -Crop

Another update....

Day 59

As you can see...and as CropReport mentioned aout the time I noticed it...these seem to be Mg hogs very late in flower. On the next run I'll try to prepare for it ..... this run they are reeling a bit

and considering that these started bloom under t-5s for a few weeks.....then a lone 430 for a couple more weeks after that, the bud development is coming along very nicely.

the talller pheno w/skinnier leaves has a pronounced dank/pungent smell to it....and as you can see, is trying to purp up a bit. Gonna say this one will be an average yielder.

The other pic is the top of the cola on the "runt". If the smell transfers to the taste...and the high transfers well to the head....this will probably be the pheno I choose to take forward. there's a crazy sweetness and spicyness exuding from this one that is just off-the-hook...and while less than 20" tall overall and untouched/untrimmed....she is making a nice >club-like< cola for a top-knot and has a buncha nice nugs off to the side as well...

Plant #3 is almost identical in size structure as the runt....but has less smell @ this point. I honestly don't see this on catching up to the runt in fragrance..but we will see soon.

thanks for checkin back in.

I just planted a germinated Roughneck seed today. Just a single one to fill a small hole in my plant count. I am looking forward to what this cross will do.

Jamaican Lambsbread? That is truly a legendary cultivar, one I have been wanting to try my hand at since I heard the name. Roughneck should prove itself.

I'll be keeping tabs on this thread. :)

Well, I bought some cheapie underwater olympus camera that takes horrid closeup pictures.

Anyway, 13 for 13 on the waipi'o hapa! Even the straggler I thought was for sure going to die pulled through. I'm liking the genetic already.

Well, here's a good reason not to take plant and nug shots with a cheapie olympus underwater camera.

Day 64 ......

I found a few nanners last night on 2 of the 3 plants in this grow:character0111:...so I'm gonna take those 2 down today to get some of this dried out and in a smokeable state so I can see how things shake out taste/high-wise :bubblez: on these before I make any decisions/etc.

After my last post I got in close on these with the loupe and decided to let these go a bit longer. I'm now @ Day 68....

It turns out that the nanners were inconsequential. It also turns out that these suckas are packing on the trichs in a big way....as well as getting a bit of purp.
When I looked into the loupe I was blown away. some of these trichs are 2X taller than the others/than most trichs I usually see. Leaf surfaces in places are completely covered top and bottom....

This is the pheno I think leans toward the Purple rhino side. Dunno what to call the smell on this one but dank!

The other 2 phenos are very similar in structure. Shorter...squattier...fatter leaves.

The difference between these 2 is smell and density. >>IF<< my nose steers me right... "the Runt" is the spicy/super sweet and just a tad dank one.... and sis is the less sweet and just a bit more dank one. The Runt takes the cake on density though. It will be interesting to see what the clones from all of these do.

Both of these are hard to photograph they are so squat and dense. once I trim them I'll get some shots of em. As it is...every shot I took just looks like a stack of leaves....LOL. However...here are a few shots of some side nugs....
