Nice! what tent is that? It's definitely stronger than the one I use. The LEC fixtures are heavy for a regular tent frame.

Here's what I use - veg only but hopefully getting them into flower soon. Really digging it in veg couldn't imagine going back to MH

edit to add - using econowings with them. The cheaper the hood the better with these apparently...

The same bulb as the Sunlight LEC system and more expensive for their ballast. I do like the fact you can use any reflector you want with their system. Hopefully Sunlight will come out with a horizontal fixture that is not so tall as the current one.
The Sunlight LEC does a great job vegging a 5x5 tent for only 315W. I see better and faster growth with that system than with most 600W lights in the same space. I am currently testing out one of the 600W Full Nova MH in a triplestar reflector and it is looking really good but it's also almost twice the wattage in the same footprint.

Yeah the 315s are awesome...you can use a few different ballasts with them some are dirt cheap pieces of shit that don't maximize the bulbs spectrum hence lower priced units. These ballasts are the ones Phillip makes to use with the bulb not the Chinese knockoffs. Not sure if sunlight supply uses the other ballasts but generally the price point will tell you.

Just thought I'd mention 1000bulbs.com has severely screwed up every order I've made with them (5-6x in the past year). They've shipped damaged bulbs, the wrong bulbs, kept me waiting months on the returns, and they're the worst company I've tried to communicate with in this business. Their published prices are low, but many other vendors will match if you just ask.

The Sun System 315W LEC has a ballast made by Phillips. Plus they helped in designing the reflector.

I've personally used 4 different Ballasts. Only the Philips and the Summit are still running. The other 2, DNA Lighting Solutions and Grobal Enterprises are spray painted Welthink ballast bought by the case from Alibaba for as sound $58 a unit last time I was quoted. Both these companies choose to use high frequency ballast when the bulb requires low frequency, square wave. If anyone wants to take one apart, contact me. They hold down the bills I can't pay replacing 12 dead ones.

I'll rant on why the reflector is better in a min.

The reflector is only about 4-6" taller than the irradiator hoods I used to run. I can hold one of the SS LEC above my head with one hand. They really don't weigh much now at all.
The design utilizes a vertical bulb for even distribution over a 3 X 3 ft area. The don't create hot spots or uneven light. The reflector is vented for great heat dissipation. I have 12 in a no CO2 room in a basement and don't need cooling. And I still get 1gpw.

Is not about lumens or that. I'd rather have 600-700 umol/msq than 1000 at one point in the middle of the canopy.

Trust me, I'm a dude, I want the biggest, brightest, best everything. I want all Gavita 1000 W DE too, but when I have a greenhouse with 20 ft peaks......

@Coir The tent was a no name brand off the Internet for a 1000 bucks. A little innovation at its held 8 raptors or 12 LEC s and a 2 ton WCAH.

Want to buy it? I've got tons of used hydro stuff cluttering my house.

I keep my 315s pretty high with good results, everyone tells me you really need to slam them to see growth but I feel like that might only be true for flower.

here's veg:

and mothers:

here's a Hells Angels OG mom that's only 10 weeks old...she's diggin the spectrum for sure. You can see how high the lights are too:

I can touch the tops of the reflectors and get within two inches of the bulb before I feel any sort of heat, I've burned myself on these a few times and it's definitely nowhere near what happens when you touch a 1ooo. Can't wait to see what happens in flower with these, if anyone has pics I'd love to see them!

@diamond2.0

Be wary of the cheap ballasts and bulbs. They may fire the bulb, but they are not designed to run then. Put your money with Philips, they've been lighting specific areas for years.

I'm not a rep. Message me if your in Colorado for compassionate pricing and availability of the LEC.

24" above canopy is optimal, even light distribution for 3 X 3 IMHO

Can you post a PAR reading of thar lamp.

Then I can compare to the Elite Agro and post. Try to find info with actual numbers on the readings. I can manipulate parameters to make the government look well run :cat:

As far as I can tell, it was from being too close to the light. My tent is not tall enough for that fixture when the plants get this big. The ones farther from the light didn't show this at all. Of course, they also weren't as thick and heavy since they were getting less light!

So is that going to increase coverage and obviously intensity? How will this stack up to a Gavita 1000W DE ?

Killin it man. On the height, I used to adjust, but don't bother anymore. My lights are a good 3-4' from the canopy at the start of flower and end up purty close at the end.... I've had a cola grow right up into the hood. I run Blumats and don't pay as close of attention as I should. It burnt a little, but not till it got within 3-4". Not suggesting setting lights like me, just sayin. But I was running (3) LEC 315s in a 4x4 tent, so intensity wasn't an issue:cool:
