Spoke to a grobal rep. He sent me this printout with the numbers they are getting. If my math is correct, you can increase your pound price by $6,000 a lb if you use their gear!!! Local grow shop has Sunsystem for $400, same as local grobal price. Same rep told me the grobal units for sale were new but 2 years old... I think I'll pass on some their units and go with sunlight's setup.

I want to see confirmed results on this 43% percent dry weight increase and 23% shorter finishing times. Its easy to just print it out but wheres the proof?

LoL, if that's the kind of marketing BS grobal is pushing I'm not even going to consider their products.

@Coir @BubbaG is it safe to say 315 yield just as good if not better than 600w hps?

It really depends on the specific situation but it will be pushing it to get the yield there.

No, you definetly don't get double the g/w, nfw ... I'd say that you get a decent weight boost depending on a lot of different stuff... maybe 10-20% imo. The faster finishing time is real though. My last harvests I went a week to 10 days too long because of it... lost all the nose, strong as fuck though.... just couldn't bring myself to chop it when I felt it was ripe. Trich production excellent. Veg growth explosive.... look at this jungle I have going atm while I get my greenhouse going.

If you mixed some CMH into a HPS room i wonder if you would still get the benefit of faster finishing times?@Billyboat i think i remember you talking about cycloptics awhile back,Did you ever get a chance to run one? That reflector might be a good one for supplemental lighting.

No I never got a chance to try them out yet, due to time constraints I'm running a bunch of 600's in the veg room and I have Moms and new clones under the 315's.

I eventually want to switch all over the the 315's for veg, in the near future.

Cheers

Can anyone comment on lamp cord lengths used with the other 315w ballasts? I need to remote them 6-7 ft away.

Is the lamp vertical in the Grobal unit? How tall are they with the ballast on top?

So I contacted Welthink and was told their 1st gen ballasts require 5ft or less to the lamp, but the current 3rd gen version works fine with 15'+.

Not sure what to believe from these salesmen, none of them are very confidence inspiring.

Will Grobal come back to the discussion or did s/he just stop by to dis? Was the Grobal ballast sourced from Welthink's older stock? Or are they running the newest version?

I unfortunately don't have the answer to your questions.

But, I want to know too. I have 7X DNA ballast that are dead.

What are my options to replace this with a reliable product?

Bob

That's where I was headed, and the best deal going right now. Was about to say it's hard to justify anything more expensive than Philips unless there's an advantage I'm not seeing.

I don't care about extending lamp life unless it's within the first 10% / 8000hrs, and even then it can't mean much unless you like running old lamps. Not seeing any evidence for claims of better spectrum either. I might pay more for the ability to run longer remote cords, if that's actually even possible with the LFSW design.

Ok just got a pm from someone heavy in the know on Welthink (he can jump in here, or not). Story is the gen 3 Welthinks can run up to a 4.5M lamp cord (17.7ft for you Brits). Have to admit this one feature alone makes them more interesting.

Not any way associated with Epalillion, but I will be using these for my veg room with the 942 bulbs.

Nice bro. Sunlight Systems also has the bare, horizontal double bulb fixture..... saw it burning in way to grow the other day.... Looks nice, but I like the flexibility of a single bulb fixture.... also, I dig the vertical bulb in the single fixture. I don't work for sun systems either.... they ought to pay me though considering how many of those fuckers I've bought so far and how many more I plan to buy...
