This is what fulvic acid and microbes do.....break down organic material so the roots can uptake.

anyone have a picture of their jacks mix? I seen one by @Capulator and his comes out light blue (Jacks/K2SO4/MAP) and mine seems to come light green everytime... Using 50% jacks with potas sulfate and map...

Calcium Nitrate might be what you are talking about being blue. By contrast, Jacks 5-12-26 blend will take on a greenish/yellow hue.

ty for response. I have a pic of cap's mix and was double checking... mine always came greenish/yellow along with a decent blue for the cal nitrate. But in the pic I saw this and the hydro color had me worried I was doing something wrong all this time.

Unless Jacks have changed their Hydro colors that's probably @Cap combining other salts with his 5-12-26 that caused the color change. Nowadays Jacks Hydro looks like pee color- if that helps :p

your probably spot on. I recall he used to add MOST and one other additive that he no longer uses.

does everyone weigh out their jacks and cal nitrate? I use tsp/tbsp, but was wondering if there is an integral difference in their weight vs volume.

Theres a line called RAW that gives U all major, micro/macro nutes + all chelated for easier uptake, phosphates as opposed 2 nitrates all in pure isolated forms so U have better control over everything. Theyre also way cheaper. 1 thing, these are strong and U should really know what you are doing and have yer plants needs, requirements dialed in. Good luck

Can anyone quote me their ppm levels using jacks + calnit combo? I'm kind of working near capulator's formula and seem to have a rapid yellowing that hasn't stopped and progressed now to 55% of my plants' height. I'm in week 5 and can't seem to tame it. Right now my ppms are at 944 and no clue what EC is at. Ph going in 6.0 at 70-73 degrees.

I'm guessing I need to flush and up the nutes to something closer to 3.0 for jacks... was running 1.5 g/gallon then upped it to 2g/gallon and still no luck. Any advice appreciated.

Ivyboy hopefully you have this figured out by now. Just use the 3-2-1 formula per gallon. SO you need to add epsom salts to your mix, which is the 1 gram per gallon part of 3-2-1. 3 is the jacks hydro. 2 is the calcium nitrate. Calcium nitrate has the nitrogen in it. Up that if anything to green up the plants, then continue with 3/2/1 and wait until they get happy.... What ec/ppms did you use on them with prior nutrients with success? Probably shoot for a similar e.c..

Jacks has way too much K in it for use in coco. If anyone is trying out this formula it would behoove them to use it in a peat based media. The upper limit of K being in the formula ( 215 mg/l compared to +/- 140 mg/l in most coco base formulas) means that bloom boosters are not good to use with Jacks. Coco will add another 50 mg/l of K for a total of around 275 mg/l- yikes. There is no reason to add MKP into the mix- especially with coco. If you are a coco and Jacks user I'd stay on the lower side of EC (1.4-1.7)

Ok, now I'm worried. Cap mentioned he uses his in coco/perlite and I felt this was ok. Let me run the formula by you guys:

.7 g / potassium silicate

1.5 g jacks; .4 MKP; .3 k2sO4; 1 g epsom salt

then 2.3 cal nit + .25 g of calcl2

adding 5 ml/gallon of unsulphured molasses.

Yellowing still raising higher. I seriously think I need to water these guys 2-3 times a day instead of the 1-2 they are getting, but if the formula I'm using is bad someone chime in. Strangest thing is I'm running it in two diff rooms (all sativa + hybrids) and one room is completely fine (space queen, gorilla glue #4, ogs, etc) , whilst the other has a rapid yellowing (allen wrench, green crack).

Cap tweaked the Jacks formula to suit his own needs. His recipe will vary from the 3-2-1 Jacks recipe which is what I was commenting on up there. I'm sure he has posted the elemental ppm profile here some where but I bet it balances out for coco

EC is at 1.2-1.4 according to PPM (880-980) to EC truncheon calculation. I'll start running 3-2-1 and see if that clears it up. Figure PPMS will be at 1200 and it will raise EC to reasonable levels. I'll remove MKP and K2SO4 (should i?) to see. I'll relook through this thread to find the page where I can calculate my elemental ppm profile and redo things - ty @Fresh Starts for input. I'll let you know how it goes.

fwiw.....I use coco and jacks water 1 time a day at .8-1.1 ec(450-550ppm) @ivyboy1225 I have run that recipe and had some plants dig it others not. the agsil is a little much, try .3 or just as a foliar.....3-1.8-1 works better for bloom food imo..... whats your runoff ec?....
