ChemWreck & Larry OG x Red Leb

I've been doing it for years..usually gives ya a nice little hand full of beans and is a great way to save a strain you maybe forgot to, uhem, clone.. doh. You can even mix a bit of flour into the pollen to make a small amount go further.. then just dip a tiny paint brush into it and paint the buds.. Now collecting the pollen, that's the trick to master. some drop a male into a box right when pollen sacs start to sag, then just empty the box.

Mixing 1/4 pollen to 3/4 flour has made my pollen last and still work just as good. I'm sure u could mix it 1/10 if u had to and it still would do good. Each piece of pollen from what i know is extremely small and only a small percentage actually gets used. not even 1%. ~ the doc

Thanks for that info Doc!! Once you get into this you realize that pollen is just important as the beans themselves. I am surprised that there is not some sort of a "trader's market" for pollen.

Well it turns out that the three undecided plants all were female. So I got eight females out of eleven. That is beyond lucky. I'm stoked about that for sure. The ChemWreck had alot of females.

I picked out the male that I am going to try to collect pollen from. I culled two males and my natural reaction was to pick the tallest of the two. After some thought and a closer inspection I decided not to just go with the tallest male. The one I chose was shorter, but developed much faster than all the others and has a stouter, more vigorous vibe.... This male was Larry OG x Red Leb. So I will inseminate some ChemWreck buds and some Larry OG x Red Leb buds. Is it good to keep inbreeding? Like if I just keep taking the best female and crossing it with stored pollen from the same healthy stout male from the same strain... Hmmmmmnnn I guess what this is all about, and that's how dank but get's to be dank. Here are some shot of the Larry Leb male:

Very nice male there Dodge.. here is something to look for that I think adds potency when looking thru males.. when the pollen sac's begin to form and swell up.. look at them through a scope and see if you have actual trichomes on the sac's themselves.. this is a trick a good breeder friend told me to look for and I feel he was right. thanks for that DV.
This Chemwreck for me through out some huge girls if you find the chemdog d pheno.. One thing I liked about using
this cross with my AK47 is, I can flip them at 2wks old and still get a 3ft plant in the end..

Your gonna have some unique stuff with this Larry Leb cross you have.. I might of open pollinated with all 3 males giving me several phenos' to go through..just another thought for a diff way to do things.. some big breeders use multiple males and swear by it too... who knows right.. lol. thanks for sharing what your up to man..

Wow that is some good info.. kinda sounds like I could have given the males more time to develop before making my selection. The thing is that I have only a limited personal grow space and don't have a separate space to raise males. I have not raised many males and really have no idea of their growth stages. I would not know when they are just about to pop. I am afraid that if I have several males, I might miss something and trash the grow. I considered open pollination but I have read that it will produce way, way to many seeds.

Yeah, I guess now would be a good time to do a little research and nail down some of the recurring dominant characteristics that define chemdog d. I have a general idea but not really....... I would be pretty fuckin' ecxited if I actually found a "no shit" chemdog d pheno out of no more than five candidates. Here's to hoping.

Lookin good brudah! That larryleb male is a stout f'er. Lookin fairly leb Dom. That leb has the craziest serrations on the leaves. Straight saw blades! You're going to open up some phenos with that cross. I think working your cross into f-gens could really produce something

Thanks for checkin' the thread Cannarado. Yeah, that male is good n healthy. Decent genetics for sure. So the saw-like leaves are a charactaristic of the Red Leb, that is good to know... I can't wait to see bud color/shape/etc..... ^^^ + REP Cannarado, thank you for the beans bro!

Well I got up early and brewed Cap's Tea and administered just now. I have done it several times the same way. I did it by hand, only letting it sit for about fourteen hours; stirring by hand about every hour. I hit the soil with the root pack when I re potted after I determined sex..... I have administered Cap's bacterial/fungal tea from around the second week of growth. I am impressed with growth and have not had any bugs this run. The left side of the pic's are the ChemWreck and the right is the Larry Leb. Here are the shots.

Making Caps tea by hand... not the worst incarnation of organic tea, this tea is good stuff indeed!!

Hey Dbud, I got some Chemwreck and ChemDiesel seeds awhile back from who I thought was Muddy Paws. Who now that Im thinking may have once been BBP.. Neways, ive had them for years and have held off on starting them due to not knowing the exact lineage.. Thanks for throwing the Chem Wreck lineage out there for me. Sounds like a sick hybrid.

Great grow Dodge, everything is coming along great. Ive fallen in love with the Lemon Larry and have been playing with a few hybrids myself. Also have made BX to I will be growing out this outdoor season. Stoked for ya bro. Keep us updated.

Well I shot a few pictures today before the lights came on... they are blurry, my fault. There are five ChemWreck and three Larry OG x Red Leb females. The Larry Leb females are the three on the right coming from the top down.... the grow is going well and the plants really like getting Caps tea.... temps are high seventies and RH is at 60 percent. I have to put water in the air here as it is so dry. It seems like it is alot esier to increase humidity rather than reduce it, so I'm not complaining. All is well...

Ahhhhh!!! Some hermies..... Dammitt... that sux!! just found two hermies in the garden. Two of my ChemWreck have both sex flowers... one plant was the the biggest and baddest. I'm gonna pluck these first little nanners of and hope I see no more..... maybe I should just kill the hermies....

Hi Dodge, sorry to hear too, hermie`s are a setback, hopefully it`s just a temporary thing, they take away a lot of joy and time.
In small numbers there`s a way to work with them, but keep a sharp eye, they start at the armpits of the main stem, as it shows on ur pics, after picking these balls, they wil continue to grow on side branches, below starting budz, and in later stadium they wil even pop banana`s in the budz.

Sometimes it`s genetic weakness, that causes the plants to go hermie, somtimes it`s stress, caused by a light leak, a timer for the lights, too hot/cold, too much or not enough humidity, to much or not enough water, wrong PH, even a fan pointed on the plants can cause it.

I hoop you`ll find the cause, or the plants give up the hermie behavior, best of luck.

I moved the light up a bit and they seem better for it.... that 1k is a shit ton of light... gotta watch bleaching.. humidity levels good and all is ok. been picking off a few nanners, such is life... Hi Dodge, earlier last week i cut off a smal bud from way blow the plant, yesterday i roled a splif from it, really nice blend, but i did find two seeds, if it`s ur own stash, no worries, i will not smoke the whole harvest so it`s gonna be seedpicking for me....but like you said, such is life;)
