Yea; looks like 3-400 pounds of dressed meat; or there about. I've mostly eaten whitetail over the years; but I've had a little elk meat and it was great. It's not a real big one; from what I've seen in the wild; but big isn't always better.Cow elk, controlled tag for Miami unit in the coast range in the tillamook forest.
Stimson lumber tree farm, I was fortunate to be able to get an access key to there gates.
This animal will feed my family for the next year.
Oh come on! Your suppose to take a bite out of the beating heart like in dances with wolves! The only parts of this animal that were left behind were the gut pile, heart liver and lungs.
When the bullet pierced the neck it was at a angle in a downward trajectory and hit the lungs causing a large amount of blood to enter the chest cavity. So those parts were left for the small woodsy animals to eat (coyotes, bobcats, bald eagles , etc)
I’ve seen into the wild! Keep the flies off! Here’s a rear quarter of this animal, my buddy (professional butcher) deboned this in less then 4 minutes, absolutely amazing:)
