Threads get so confusing when you put people on ignore. It is like only hearing one half of the conversation you get forced into with a drunk hillbilly uncle at Christmas.

Tell us again about how you lost a toe.
I feel the same, but frankly, I was more confused subjecting myself to his posts. I don't speak imbecile very well, and I hate listening to it even more

This is no longer a partisan issue, it affects everyone. Insurance companies aren't the only ones negatively impacted by this, one fifth of our economy is related to healthcare, I don't think that is only L's and R's, and it's unfair to punish or blame obama. That's lazy. We should find fault at the local level such as the division of insurance or dora. Our insurance commissioner is not very well-liked, but at least she's somewhat transparent. Our legislators are also responsible, but they remain silent.

I am not in Colorado but this information is very much appreciated..It is a "system" and if you do not know the pit falls then your are screwed, blued and tatoo'd.

Now before I drop my 2 cents into this please if this lites a fuse in some it is NOT my intention, but lets be honest here...Lets be transparent...We are all adults...

I did not know that number the 1/5th...That is what our budget a year on health care is..I will accept that point 100%.

Now your response to the Oboma cop out that was dropped..Its a excuse of a shitty diaper I don't care what name is attached..It is just that a shit diaper.

Lets be honest is it not a Democrat president that signed it?
Was it not a Republican Senate and Congress that also signed off with the pres?
We all know that they( Senate and Congress) can wipe it out of the system at any point so party lines are again a shitty diaper..They do not matter..

Now what is the NOT shitty diaper?

Now see here is the other side of the coin...Who is the Insurance connected to? The pharma companys. What is the largest profit generating sector of the economy? Pharma.

Why is it that us tax payers are being crucified to death by these rates, the cost of the drugs and the system in of itsself..It is not a president's issue that a very corrupt, very archiac approach to modern life is being done to all of us.

Alot are bantering Trump he is our man..Well keep in mind that those that have created this system are not going to take having there easy money taken away so for those that are swearing that trump is the man, let me ask you in 3 years how you feel...Its the same shitty diaper. There is no way any election is going to take money from corporate America in any shape or any form what so ever..If you think that is possible then please look up the word " sheeple"

Sad I was in Houston 12 years ago didn't have insurance..I was hit in the mouth from a breaker bar hitting me in the mouth when a 149 Detroit diesel engine decided to be rude and kick back in my mouth. Go to Ben Taub I cannot get ER service no insurance, but the illegals that had state insurance were being seen and there was atleast 30 in the E.R...I am a vet, this nite I will never forget 8 teeth laying on the shop floor, my lips both split badly shit is haning out like a bowl of speghettii.

To the OP please understand I support you and your intent, wich is good...It sucks were all stuck in a shitty diaper and until that shitty diaper is changed not by elections but how Corporate America is delt with and allowed to influence well remeber that the maggots are free....

OMG//what?..surely Houston has a public hospital..no?
Outside of CO if this passes..
There's 3 choices..work for somebody else and pay through the teeth on a company policy.
Or work for yourself and pay for an expensive personal policy. 3rdly..claim poverty and go on medicaid.
Obama subsidies are only for that slice of the population that exist slightly above poverty and it sucks as not everyone takes it. The first 2 paid for policies scenario are shit too..because the the deductibles are excruciating and policies limiting. The best care pre-retirement age is either rich man cadillac insurance or dirt poor medicaire.
The special exception to this are government positions that offer lifetime care.
It's a freakin mess and will be after it gets altered and changed..but like you say..the maggots are free..lol The liability has to change though..people losing their houses and being denied care after paying years on policies is garbage

Ya, no time to think in the middle of a trauma certainly. ER bills even in public hospitals rack up quick. There is HEPA..and they never validate what you claim as income..but it still hurts like a mofo when that bill comes in. Having no insurance is like russian roullette

That's not that bad considering. I had a 25k bill..but the state picked that up..due to being a victim of violence.
Last time I went in without insurance I had a sebacious cyst on back..aka pimple. Even after HEPA (charity for the uninsured) it was still 3k. I pd the hospital and their Surgical Assistant that did the work. But refused to pay the doctor who admitted me and wanted his 1500 for asking me one question. I could care less about the bad credit..let him try and collect.
I'm gonna commit to a personal policy like BCBS and try and get a low deductible if I can. If that doesn't work..I'll just get medicaid and fly under the radar

In 2005 I bit into a candied apple and felt a "pop" in my lower front tooth. I tried to ignore it...but a week later the pain had me heading to my dentist....

Long story short....I ended up losing all 4 teeth between the canines....had a full mouth "pocket reduction" surgery (the most pain I've ever endured)....went through 3 years of braces (at 45 years of age) with no lower front teeth... then had 2 LARGE bone grafts inserted....and finally...in 2008/3 years later...I had titanium rods installed and an implant with 4 new teeth installed.

Total cost? 23K. I had both medical insurance and dental insurance.....but BOTH said the other should pay....and when no one would....they both said that all of the procedures I went through were "cosmetic" and were NOT covered under either plan. Mind you...these were top dollar/full boat plans (Platinum or some such tag) we'd used for years for our medical needs without much backlash/dis-allowance of bennies.

Thankfully the GANJA plan DID pay. I ramped up production (this was back when you could move weed for a good profit and there was no "industry" of clownboys fuckin shit all up for the little guys) and made it happen without putting my family in debt..

Even with "insurance" there are no guarantees of what they will and won't pay. I'm on a "cash" basis with my new dentist....no insurance whatsoever....and the cleaning they used to charge me $250 for are now $99. Right there is the problem. the DR's and dentists and whoever else can tap your plan HIT IT AS HARD AS THEY CAN when they can.

We just got "the letter" for anthem telling us there are gonna be big changes and our current plan will be phased out...

Without a doubt...I miss that GANJA plan....

WTF to do? Fuck if I know.

heres what happens when you miss that 400 % rule by a dollar.
Losing $13,000 in subsidies
Consider a couple, ages 60 and 63, living in the town of Rifle, in the Colorado mountains. (Rifle is a regular town, not a resort community. The median household income is under $59,000, and the median home value is about $256,000 – far below the nearly $700,000 median home value in Aspen. In short, Rifle is not Aspen.) Health insurance is expensive in all Colorado mountain towns.

For our Rifle couple, the second lowest-cost Silver plan available through the state-run exchange, Connect for Health Colorado, is $1,587 per month. If our Rifle couple earns $62,100 per year, they qualify for a subsidy of $1,095 per month. But if they earn $62,200, they get no subsidy at all.

(Even though this amount is several hundred dollars less than 400 percent of 2014 poverty level, all calculations for the current open enrollment are based on 2013 poverty level, since open enrollment began in 2013. For the 2015 open enrollment that begins November 15, 2014, calculations will be based on 2014 poverty level numbers). An increase of $100 per year in income means the loss of $13,140 in subsidies for the year.

Mr. President, in Washington, D.C. today is just another day of bureaucratic rollouts, regulatory nightmares, and government overreach. But if you’re in Colorado today, it’s also sticker shock day, because today the people of Colorado found out, thanks to the new numbers just confirmed by the Colorado Division of Insurance, that if you live in that state, you are going to be paying, on average, an additional 20.4% for your health insurance this year under Obamacare.

That’s the individual rate that was just confirmed for the 2017 plans — 20.4% increase. Now, remember, the promises that were made when Obamacare was put into law in the most partisan of fashions, the promises that were made, ‘if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor,’ it’s been proven untrue. ‘If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan,’ it’s been proven untrue. Why do we know that? Because in Colorado alone, over the past three years, over 750,000 Coloradans have had their insurance plans canceled.

Let’s just go through those numbers. That’s over 92,000 people with individual plans from United Healthcare, Humana, Rocky Mountain Health Plans, and Anthem. They’ll be forced to find new plans in 2017.

In May, United Healthcare and Humana announced they weren’t going to be offering plans in Colorado at all. We’ve seen Aetna reduce significantly the number of plans that they will be offering. We know that the health care co-op in Colorado collapsed because it was unsustainable thanks to the way that Obamacare was designed, costing over 80,000 Coloradans their health insurance. And back in August of 2013, we saw hundreds of thousands more in Colorado lose their health insurance. That doesn’t sound like a promise that’s been kept to me. That’s a promise that has been broken.

We also know that Obamacare promised that it would reduce the premiums by $2,500 per family. But here we are today talking about a 20.4% rate increase on the Colorado people alone, and we know from studies that show that one-third of Colorado counties aren’t even going to have a choice of more than one insurance provider to choose from. That, despite the third Obamacare promise, that the people of this country would have more opportunities to buy different insurance products, more choice, more consumer insurance options, yet over a third of the counties in this country will have only one choice or perhaps even fewer. That’s why legislation that has been introduced in recent days by Senator McCain and Senator Sasse are so important. And what do they do?

Senator Sasse has introduced legislation that says if an insurance increase is more than 10%, then you don’t have to abide by the individual mandate, forcing people to pay these outrageous increases thanks to Obamacare. It also says it if you’re paying 8% of your income in insurance premiums then you don’t have to abide by the mandate of Obamacare. It gives people the ability to actually have that financial certainty that they’re looking for, the certainty that Obamacare promised but failed to deliver. Senator McCain says that if a county has one or fewer health insurance options to choose from, then they also will receive relief from Obamacare’s individual mandate. These are important because in states like Colorado the government is forcing you to pay at least 20.4% more if you’re in the individual market. That’s the average rate increase.

Now, while 20.4% in the 2017 plans is certainly a significant amount, that’s on top of last year’s rate increases. If you live on the Western Slope of Colorado, last year you saw average premium rates in the individual market increase by 25.8%. One of the most expensive markets in the country, the Western Slope of Colorado. The mountains of our state. So between these two years — now, we haven’t been able to break down what it means on the Western Slope — that individual impact might even be higher on Colorado’s Western Slope. We don’t quite have those numbers broken down because it was just released today, this massive increase under Obamacare. But if you just take the statewide average of the individual plan of 20.4% with 25% increase last year, that’s an almost 50% increase in insurance over the past two years. 2017 which will increase 20.4% on average, and this past year of 25.8%. That’s nearly 50% increase. The people of Colorado can’t afford Obamacare. Obamacare can’t keep its promises.

We’ve got to find real solutions for the American people. And I urge the President to come forward with the acknowledgment that his signature law is a signature failure. Mr. President, I yield the floor and I suggest the absence of a quorum.

Cory Gardner is a member of the U.S. Senate serving Colorado. He sits on the Energy & Natural Resources Committee, the Foreign Relations Committee, the Commerce, Science, & Transportation Committee, and the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, and is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity Policy.

We saw this coming years ago, and positioned ourselves so as to be under the requirements of having to fund this fucked up system. I have to say, its working out nicely.

My taxable income last yr was just under 14k, and I couldnt be happier.
