Good stuff man! Really helped me decide which way I wanted to go. I'm putting the finishing touches on mine now. I have to build or buy a stand for my top off reservoir, figure out where to sit my 55g drum and get these seeds to sprout. Quick question, and you may have this in one of your videos but do you just plant your starter plug with the plant down in the middle of your hydroton? Then cover it up? Rocks to the top of the netpots? Like starter cube down on top of a thin layer of bubbly rocks? I guess it depends how tall the plant is at the time. Basically, if you were starting with seeds, at what point would you put them in your net pots and how? Thanks again for sharing. I rewatch this shit almost daily!

they are just for starting seeds in dwc, otherwise you need :crying2: rockwool or something similar
A 2 inch net pot wont support a plant bigger than a foot tall.Start out with the right size pot and be done with it.

6 inch net pots are standard and will support bigger plants till you get a trellis over them or some other kind of upper support.Make sure the holes are cut right otherwise the net pots will fall through the lid.
I always put 2 inches of pebbles in the net pot first,Than i fill the system with the air stones running.A soon as the bubbles begin under the rocks i set the water level. You can place your medium right over the rocks and just fill around it.Its in one of the vdeos on the first page.

When I move I am going to build a room that has a 4 plant system based on your videos and advice. Thanks man.

Regardless of the layout i can make it work.

If you ran 2 strains would you run 2 pots with 1 reservoir (4 pots with 2 res) in case they feed differently ?

Think small.... lol said no one ever... but i want to show everyone the 4 plant limit means we can grow for what we need personally no problem at all. :)

You would need 2 separate systems for 2 dif reservoirs.,i found most plants feed about the same in RDWC.Keep it light and work up.4 bucket system keep your PPM between 350 and no higher than 600 and things will go right.

So 4 5 gallon buckets set up exactly like this will work thr same? If if bigger buckets get better yeilds, I'd Like to go for bugger buckets

bigger buckets will allow for increased veg time which = bigger yield

But you would still need a big light footprint to penetrate canopy.you get to a ceartian point indoors that unless your running overlapped gravitas it's pointless to veg a plant for a month or 2 only to get a few good tops and 4 lbs of leaves and larf

Great videos, thank you very much. Do you have a video about your LEDs? I'd watch that too

What happens if there are light leaks into the bucket?
If you do it the way I said in the videos the only light will be through the pebbles but its minimal

You can add a piece of poly with a slit in it but I found that it creates to much humidity around the root crowns and causes crown rot.its really not worth the effort

I was looking at the four gallon square pails from uline.ca that I think are the same as the ones you are using.

Would you happen to know how many gallons they hold to the bottom of a net pot?

@sharprock it all depends on which net pot you are using, they are never really equal...
