I've sort of already talked about this already but I never asked anybody for their opinion on it. So I have a tolys 600w LED from amazon (you can look it up if you want, it doesn't really make a difference). I haven't checked the actual wattage but a review on their 1000w model said it ran at 111w so I'm assuming mine runs at around 66w (It has 60 individual diodes if that means anything). I've only finished one grow with it where I got about 3oz from it but it was good quality bud and I made a few mistakes because it was my first grow like I under/over watered a couple time, nutrient problems, didn't lollipop and I forgot to flush. My current grow is my second grow with this light and I'm less than a week from being done and the quality is crazy good so far and I think I'm going to get a better yield than last time but still not close to what I'd like. So I've already decided that for my next grow, I will be changing the light in my tent and I've been thinking about changing to a viparpectra but now that I see that this light can produce good buds, I'm wondering if this light might be more effective than a viparspectra.
These are the options I'm considering and after that are some pics of my current grow:
1. One viparspectra p1500 for $230 (I live in Canada and it's hard to get viparspectra lights for cheap)
2. Two more Tolys 600w LEDs for $160 and using these there will be much better coverage because there are more lights and I can lower them a lot because they hardly produce any heat.
As you can see in the pictures below, the buds are good quality but very small so I think that either option will be good and get me a better yield. I may have just gotten lucky with this grow but it seems to me that I have gotten pretty good at keeping the grow conditions perfect to get good quality so I'm just looking for higher yields and faster vegging times so I'd assume more of the same light that I have can only add yield and not reduce quality. From what I've said the Tolys option kind of sounds better but the science shows that full spectrum LED's are better so I'm stuck on which to choose and just hoping for some input.

I know they tested the Viparspectra, not sure about the other light, but if you have the specs from the manufacturer, you can get the answers you need to compare on that page. Having used both blurple and full spectrum quantum boards, I can easily say the QB produced much healthier and more productive plants for me.

I often refer to that site but the light I have is an off brand one so they haven't tested it an I don't trust the manufacturer's data. You say that from you experience the QBs are better but could it be that you just got better and not the light because I assume you started off with the burples.

I agree that the manufacturer numbers are usually manipulated some, but even with using those in the calculator, you get an idea for what the best case scenario with that light would be. You can see how much or how little it measures up.

But more than just the increased growth, the leaves looked happier. They were bigger, had better color and stood up for the light more so than with the Blurple. Wattage wise, the blurples were twice the draw at the wall.

So you're opinion is go with the viparspectra? It's a 2x2x4 tent, do you have any other suggestions for lights because the p1500 is pretty expensive for what it is and the xs1500 isn't available in Canada. I've already looked into the mars hydro and the sf lights and I don't think those are the best options.
I think that is a great light. I use a Spider Farmer 1000 in a 2x2 tent and the feature I am most thankful for, is the dimmer. Make sure that unit has easy dimming capabilities. Here is a review of the Viparspectra p1500 from a person I tend to trust the results of -

Simply put no it cannot. Now can a blurple grow better plants? Sure a lot depends on grower skill. Only using chlorophyll A and B when there are many more impacts by spectrum i would say no way. While the red and blue may be the most efficiently used by the plant the other spectrums are still important and provide benefits.

Full spectrum supplemented with far red/IR and far blue/UV is basically the best you can get.
Blurples produce so much light that's wasted to get those useful spectrums, they're inherently inefficient. Not to say ineffective, but there's much better technology elsewhere.
Maybe contact spider farmer and see if theyre willing to give you a deal or even a free light in exchange for an honest review. Their 2x2' lights are very affordable and seem to work pretty good for a budget light.

I've been trying to get the xs1500 for the last couple months now and they finally said they'd have it in Canada by late December so I think I'll ask them if I can give them a review on it to get them started in Canada or something. haha
