I often refer to that site but the light I have is an off brand one so they haven't tested it an I don't trust the manufacturer's data. You say that from you experience the QBs are better but could it be that you just got better and not the light because I assume you started off with the burples. On the face of it alone, blue and red is not full spectrum, so if all things were equal, the blurple would not be the most efficient. It will work though.
The best way I can see to compare them would be to use the grow light calculator here - https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/grow-light-calculator/ Check the drop down menu for the light of your choice. I know they tested the Viparspectra, not sure about the other light, but if you have the specs from the manufacturer, you can get the answers you need to compare on that page. Having used both blurple and full spectrum quantum boards, I can easily say the QB produced much healthier and more productive plants for me.
I agree that the manufacturer numbers are usually manipulated some, but even with using those in the calculator, you get an idea for what the best case scenario with that light would be. You can see how much or how little it measures up.I often refer to that site but the light I have is an off brand one so they haven't tested it an I don't trust the manufacturer's data. So you're opinion is go with the viparspectra? It's a 2x2x4 tent, do you have any other suggestions for lights because the p1500 is pretty expensive for what it is and the xs1500 isn't available in Canada. I've already looked into the mars hydro and the sf lights and I don't think those are the best options.I agree that the manufacturer numbers are usually manipulated some, but even with using those in the calculator, you get an idea for what the best case scenario with that light would be. Thats a good question, but I don't think there was any major variable between the two grows. Same strains, same size container, similar temps / humidity, watering and feed the same too. But more than just the increased growth, the leaves looked happier. They were bigger, had better color and stood up for the light more so than with the Blurple. Wattage wise, the blurples were twice the draw at the wall.
Ya ya I love coco for cannabis, really helpful with literally everything growing related.I think that is a great light. I use a Spider Farmer 1000 in a 2x2 tent and the feature I am most thankful for, is the dimmer. Make sure that unit has easy dimming capabilities. Here is a review of the Viparspectra p1500 from a person I tend to trust the results of -
Not lights. Just fans and random things here and there.Have you ever wired anything yourself?
Ok, thanks for the help.Simply put no it cannot. Now can a blurple grow better plants? Sure a lot depends on grower skill. Only using chlorophyll A and B when there are many more impacts by spectrum i would say no way. While the red and blue may be the most efficiently used by the plant the other spectrums are still important and provide benefits.
Maybe contact spider farmer and see if theyre willing to give you a deal or even a free light in exchange for an honest review. Their 2x2' lights are very affordable and seem to work pretty good for a budget light.
Totally works, If you want to take a look I have a deal from a supplier for a cob that will do a deal for an honest review, you have to pay for it, then get refunded after review 10 to 15 days later, the light they offered me is actually pretty good for your footprint. but is around £250. if you are interested I can help put you in contact
The better light is the one I was offered

I don't know anything about the garpson light and from the very few reviews I've seen on it, it doesn't seem to be the best. The spiderfarmer might work but it's just not at bright as the viparspectras. Since my grow space is so limited, I want to make the most of it even if that means spending a few hundred dollars. I doubt I'll be able to because their customer service sucks but I'll ask viparspectra to send me a light in exchange for a review.Maybe contact spider farmer and see if theyre willing to give you a deal or even a free light in exchange for an honest review. I've been trying to get the xs1500 for the last couple months now and they finally said they'd have it in Canada by late December so I think I'll ask them if I can give them a review on it to get them started in Canada or something. hahaVipar spectra have no more units for UK custumer reviews at the moment, @UK420Show managed to pip me to the post when we were brainstorming about this very subject. hes been sent one for testing to leave a review, but then again maybe with it being a different country and the amazon review will be on the us site, you may have some luck, but vipar defo do have a customer service agent who deals with promoting their stuff so worth a try
I use this website:In one of our spider farmer threads (or theirs) @Anthem proved spider farmer had posted exagerated ppfd on their website.
they changed it after he showed it.
I bet viparspectra also lies about their specs. Seems these chinese light companies dont like truth in advertising.
I try this website:
According to them, the viparspectra xs1500 puts off 280 ppf and the sf1000 only puts off 190.Grow Light Calculator - Coco For Cannabis
