hey everybody im new to growing but spring is right around the corner and im looking to setup my first guerilla opertion. i gotta few ideas on where to setup shop, theres plenty of woodland in my neck of the woods but im wondering if more of a marsh type area with plenty of sun all day might work better? my other questions on getting the goodies home what work best duffel bags? back packs any help is appreciated. Thx :afroweed:

well i myslef like woodland... but i take and cut out what i can making sure my babies get plenty of sun marsh area im not so sure on im sure some one will buzz in here realy quick and tell you what you need to know.... as for me i like using small toats and chop all the main shit of my plant and take it home to do the trimming best of luck to you spark hope you find the spot your looking for

i stay away from marshes. but my locale offers mostly saltmarsh. and thats a pretty obvious no no.
we always tended to shy from low lying areas, cuz, around me, summer rains are HIT or MISS......if its even slightly above avg rainfall the marshes here are pretty much streams.

weve found spots on a nice south facing slope with good air flow works best.

i would absolutly agree hub on the south facing hill looks like you got all the answers i dont today :hi

i agree with hubcap stay away from the marshes unless youve seen them in the height of the summer rain the best spot can turn into a lake bed in days..id stick to the woodlands and try to bend or break of branches in the way of the arch of the sun...i wouldnt use duffel bags unless you have first tripple bagged them in garbage bags...i find even after tripple bagging em the smell will start to leak out after a couple minutes the best bet would be to tripple bag em then put them in a rubermaid tub and then duck tape the hell out of the top to seal it...also its important to use gloves while harvestings so your not smelling either i change clothes after im done

Good shit good shit, thanks guys for the info. im tryin to get all the necesary equipment before spring sets in

Make yourself some chicken wire cages. If you need help building them shoot me a pm. I will send you a tutorial with pictures.

Also, Its important to visit your site only when its absolutely necessary! Repeated trips to the garden will leave a nice trail for rippers, or eyes in the sky to follow!
Don't leave any debris or garbage that can be spotted from the sky. This includes, soil bags, watering cans, trash, or cigarette butts etc.

If u can find a spot that you can access easily by walking up a creek bed, this would be a great idea. Walking through the creek will hide any footprints or trails.

Cover the bottoms of your shoes with Duct Tape! No Shoe print to be traced.

Find a good area and dig out an area. I like to keep my gardens about 3 X 3 - 4 X 4. Till the soil up real nice, and get the ground loose before planting seeds, seedlings, or cuttings. If the soil isn't good, remove it and backpack in some potting mix. I like to use Pro-mix.
Make sure you spread the dirt out that you removed from the hole, and don't pile it up, where it could be spotted from the ground or air. If you have to pile it, make sure you hide it real well. If you have to leave watering containers or fertilizer near the grow site. Dig a nice sized hole to store it in. Cover the hole and camoflauge it well!
These are a few tips I have learned from experience.
Good luck and B Safe

Thats an interesting recipe buzz maybe ill give it a shot ill try anything once, cages sound a little less messy tho, havent put much thought into it i guess i was just hoping theyd leave it alone. id better brush up on that Thanx again:afroweed:

pile up dog shit near the grow on occasion if possible.
deer and dogs dont mix. dogs fur adds a little bit of deterrance as well. but these arent the best fail safe methods.

short of wire cages or manning the nest behind some buckshot, nothing really 100% fool proof, imo. mother nature usually has her say in it as well....usually in the form of summer storms with hard winds and heavy rains by me.

just a little more input i heard in the last few days that deer cannot stand chicks dont know exactly why but some one reliable suggested mixing some chicken feathers in with that nasty recipe :rasta: good luck also wire cages good idea guy thats what my other buddies are doing i just cant be seen carrying anything like that to my spot

deer might not like chickens (really dont know) but i DO know other pests like dogs, opossums, raccoons, like chickens. deer aint your only enemy.
this is something to keep in mind, as well, when adding fish type amendments to your guerilla plots. the animals smell that shit for MILES!

have any of you guys every tried planting in the middle of very thick brush to deter the deer? i mean like very thick though, hard for you to even get through it kind of brush...i also have deer in my area but ive never had a problem with them due to doing this, insects are usually the killers around here(mainly grasshoppers) but only till rapid growth starts.

Good point hub never thought of raccoons got a bunch around here, looks like cages is my best bet, i like the sound of thick brush too though just like a cage only alll natural and built in camo makes it seem like a no brainer. must be a hassle climbin thru everytime tho, how do you not leave a trace thru thick asss brush tho? seems like youd have to break branches and maybe leave a hole in the brush?:afroweed:

yep

works too

just make sure youll be able to get the stuff out come early fall. that crap might me drying out and dying...but maaan....its still a bitch. do it strategically keeping in mind what the plants gonna do, and also the brush and thorns in its immediate vicinity.

alot of people make the mistake of burying em TOO deep into thorns and brush, and they rot out cuz they get no air flow unless the wind really moves....

but, in short....thorns can make great natural deterrents.

nothing afterall is 100% when it comes to nature....if somethings hungry enough......or if a limb comes down and flattens the natural barrier....the games for nil.

just know your growing area's year round growing enviornment.

Welcomez

Hey wutup Sparknutz!
Marshes can be an awesome place to grow. I was reading some info the other day about swamptubes; they can make growing in swamps much easier and more prolific. Just search for swamptubes or swamp tubes.
Also on the topic of deer and other pests Buzzkill is dead on with his concocktion. It called a contact deterrent. It can be made with any combination of his listed ingredients. The idea behind contact deterrents is the deer will see this tasty little pot plant right, then he’s like mmmmmm that looks delicious I think I’ll have a bite, then WAM he’s gets hit in the mouth with this nasty taste and burning mouth because u just sprayed ur plants with the contact deterrent. He’s not likely to do that twice.

Another form of deterrent is the area deterrent. U start by placing things that discourage deer around ur garden. u can use soap bars, deodorant sticks, predator wastes like dog feces and wolf piss(u can find @ gander mtn. and other hunt/fish shops), u can use blood, I guess it scares the crap out of em; fresh blood will deter deer from quite a distance. Also one of the oldest methods is chicken feathers; deer for some reason hate chicken feathers.

The last kind of deterrents are electronic deterrents things like motion detection lights or radios. Also my personal favorite electric fencing. I have found a $90 solar powered energizer/charger that would be suitable for a couple of small patches. The last thing I can recommend is chicken wire cages it is a very sound idea, 1 ill defiantly be using in conjunction with the contact spray.

Good luck wit ur grow u need any help u let me know.
I have just started to prepare for my outdoor this year. Taking a bunch of clones and readying some reveg plants that will hopefully be monsters by the end.
