Like my "Mentor" when I speak to him about "negative" pressure, accomplished by an "inline" fan exhausting out of a closed tent. Cheers SS

All the information needed to be a successful grower is here on this website. As is the standard format in many other forums, FAQ sections and "What every newbie needs to be successful" threads exist.

I'm guessing that despite these efforts to inform people, these resources go largely ignored.

I get my knowledge from age . I grew up in a time before the internet. We had to go to book stores, and seminars, and go to college demonstrations. That being said I spent a lot of time reading everything I could. I also got first hand knowledge from Ed Rosenthal, and Jorge Cervantes. Their books are a wealth of knowledge. I also happen to be related to the owner of a very popular breeder. After 20+ years of growing im still learning. I recently switched to DWC and learned more in the last 3 weeks about it, than I thought I ever knew about it. Just keep reading

I learn by popping a lot of beans and trying new techniques and refining those that work. Have had lots of failures along my growing journey.

Learning for me usually begins with "I don't know." As so many others have said, I too have been going from one mistake to the next. Each time, I learn. I also learn by lurking and reading about the problems other growers encounter and how they are resolved.

Personally I know that a person with 20years of real life experiences. Are much better that a person with a PhD they got 2years ago that might hurt so feelings but it's what I have encountered. I have been growing vegetables for the past 40years. Hell I was my parents tiller until 1989 or 1990 my dad purchased a troybuilt horse rear tiller. My uncle had a horse farm and we used to get 2 truck loads of manure wtf when did I get old

So, I'm one of those people with an actual degree in Botany. I'm also one of the first people to admit that I know nothing about growing cannabis. My degree is great for landscaping and houseplants, but I'm going to need expert help to produce good herb. Thanks in advance.

You mean you're not an expert after your first successful grow? Shit, you better put out a memo on the farm, pretty sure I've seen a few people here that missed that one.
They say it takes at least 10,000 to be an expert on anything... I'm sure there are many here that have far surpassed that... even without counting the hours spent getting stoned and staring at your plants whispering "what the fuck is happening?"

I played a lot of sports through my life from Baseball, Hockey, Golf, Tennis, Ping Pong, Cycling++++ and I hit more than 10,000 golf balls, ping pong balls tennis balls hockey pucks & cycling miles and although I became competent...an expert I was not........lol.......just saying....I am an expert smoker though That I have a certificate for........

+1 I went for horticulture out of high school but back then applying it to cannibus wasn't on anyone's radar. It was all nursery management jobs and propagating.

I carry a Master Growers certification, it’s xlent for golf course greenery. My ability to grow is thirty five years of screwing up, searching out the old timers and at long last being at peace with my methods.
So if one would ask how it is that I’m a master grower, truth is.. Ive screwed up more times than most people have even tried!
Experience is the real key to this kingdom There is no one way and that is demonstrated daily here at the farm. Plus, as I said I’m old and I know shit.. there’s always that

I wouldnt even second guess anything you said. Youve been growing longer than I have been alive... plus with the stuff you grow, it just shows you have that much experience.

It took me a solid 18 months just to scrounge up a good basic understanding of what I was doing right and wrong. I’ve just been trying to build on that for the last couple grows. A little over two years experience here, and still brand new.

I can say that each grow gets better in most ways, even if I screw things up. A certificate can’t beat experience, and I think that’s where most of the top growers in this community have gained their knowledge. This shit wasn’t legal anywhere until very recently, generally speaking. So that still makes it hard to find proven methods and information. This forum has helped me tremendously just by existing. There’s peeps here who were risking it all by doing this way before this new weed culture exploded.

Indeed, when I started growing in the late 90's there weren't internet forums like this that made it so easy to learn how to grow. And being illegal made it difficult to even find people who grew to learn from. Most good growers kept their methods to themselves and kept their mouths shut.

I had high times magazine and Ed Rosenthal/Mel Frank's growers guide to teach me, and a whole pile of screw ups. If you can do something wrong, I've probably done it. Learned from a lot of mistakes.

I didn't start posting here until it was legal where I am. Too much to lose. I know I am not alone in that regard.

Everything is different now in terms of information flow. Should have been this way all along, but

It wasn't until I was posting and getting challenged by better growers than me that things really started to fall in place. Reading a book only gets you so far. Feedback is an important part of the learning process.

I grew for 20 years hiding in a small oil tank room with a 5ft 6" ceiling banging my head daily on ducting. I wasn't going anywhere for help and my grows were hit and miss. I really didn't have a clue.

Since faux legalization here in Canada I've been on here reading and learning almost daily.....Some of it had to rub off on me, I still have fk ups but I have a great place to ask for help when I need it.....
