You can't pick up a real DPH Medical Marijuana Patient Card yet. They're going to have a big announcement on Mass.gov as well as the DPH site when they begin. It's all just doctor's recommendations now, though some doctors give you a little plastic id card, but that is not a real DPH card. The DPH is waiting to set up the patient registry until all the dispensary money starts coming in, since it costs quite a bit to pay for all the work it's going to take to monitor the dispensary system in the way they've devised it.

The people saying "cards available now go to this clinic and walk in" are generally talking about doctors, not actual Medical Cards.

I think that caregivers and patients that continue to cultivate in a non-commercial manner will have a decent argument in court even once dispensaries open but that is only my opinion based on the wording of question 3 passed in 2012. Please do not take this as encouragement as you do not even want to be put in a position to have to argue anything in any court; which means at that point you have already run into problems.

There have been some articles that have come out this weekend and for the first time, I believe I might be with the Mass. Republicans who are calling BS on the way the Dispensary Application process has been nothing short of political, shady and inconsistent.

The whole thing is, no matter what; they are setting up the caregivers or anyone growing at home for effective suicide.

This is the part that bothers me the most. The DPH has put big money and doctor's protection first. Not the patients.

We should all fight for our right to grow what we put into our own bodies; especially when there isn't anywhere else to turn.

There are challenges to the "provisional" licenses granted to the dispensaries right now. There were problems in the vetting process of these companies claims. Should be an interesting obstacle for the moment. The further Mass. stalls and chokes on Red Tape, the closer we get to 2016 and the recreational question. I suppose I'm worried about the Political Greed behind the Dispensaries, I hope it's a not the usual case of "We want it all and will extend every legal and illegal effort to capture every dollar in the market." Hopefully they'll be distracted about the actual dollars they are raking in and where to bank it, to worry about the small local Cultivation community.

No rush to get your card. I got one . It don't mean shit. I thought I was cool, one of the first and all, but the more I think about it what did I get? A little piece of plastic with my picture on it that says I've been seen by a doctor who recommends cannabis for my undisclosed illness. That's not the same as a state issued med card. I showed it to a few people and they all thought it was cool, but the only person it would have to show it to is a cop. And they don't give a fuck. See you in court. What's the rush? no dispensaries are open and real cards haven't been issued. Who knows if they ever will. Or if the doctor that approves your condition will or will not be able to issue cards. The states not too happy all these out of town doctors setting up shop, giving and issuing med cards for ingrown toenails and shit. So again, until the state issues cards and some one opens a dispensary, why bother? $200 for a fake med card or how about 2 packs of sour bubble (plus shipping)?

all i know is nothing is going to get done at all until the casinos are up in running...medical pot got passed two years ago and still no dispensary...so i dont know what the fuck alterego and his imaginary friend is talking about cuz i live in chicopee and theyre aint going to be a dispensary in western mass as of now...there is suppose to be one in every county of mass..but something happened with the company that was going to put one in northampton and one at the cape....once the casinos are up and everyone gets their money, theyre going to need a new avenue for corruption and to screw massholes over some more...now que the dispensaries!

Hey man, I think you're probably talking about one of the fly-by-night "caregiver" services out in Western MA. Those guys are operating illegally, so it's no surprise that they've got pesticides, powdery mildew, etc. They're basically guys with either horrible grows, or getting horrible stuff shipped out of California.

okkk i was wondering what was going on with the one in Northampton.. last thing I saw about that whole thing was they were considering a vote to let that company still put a dispensary in northapmton...I know the whole deal with that is the president of that company lied on his application and never went to college but has been running the company for awhile lol.. I was looking to see what happened with that if they were still going to put it up and i didnt find anything recent...is there any talk of any other ones going up anywhere else in westernmass? or is that going to be the only one? i know theres going to be a few out near boston

I honestly think that a bunch of us patients need to get a law suit going this was approved damn near three years ago and no dispensaries its bullshit and politics but they would be more then happy to accept these business owners money but make them wait and jump through all kinds of hoops its crazy and makes no sense its simple grow sell make money what the fuck is the problem and then when they do open the prices are more then likely gonna be crazy so the longer they take the worse off reason being they are gonna need to take time to get everything to run smooth and proper ans still we the people (patients) are still going black market and takimg chances when we shouldn't have too!! Currently Western MA is going to have Northampton, and then Patriot Care Corp. is going to have a dispensary site in Greenfield, it looks like. Considering most of the Western MA population is concentrated around Holyoke, Springfield, etc. both dispensaries will probably do some serious delivery programs (as they've already stated), so Western MA should be covered pretty well.

I'm just sad that the South Hadley cultivation site never went through, there's a lot of grow knowledge and history out in Western MA that they could have tapped into, probably had some old-school local cultivators that have been doing this since way back in the day working there.
