ok update............ive been really boosting the nutes last 10 days and i think i overdid it for some more sensitive strains (keep in mind this is the first time im running 8 of the 10 strains in the g/h)
so..............i decided to give her a good flush with just plain water (im going to flush last week with sweet((i have a fuckload to use up)) and rain water)
the ice cream seem to b the fastest along with the sputnik
and OMG do the ice cream smell good.......like vanilla ice cream cones....very sweet and appealing........might b the idea g/h strain if she finishes well and yield good (the snow is amazing on this strain.....very sticky already)
when u bump into her its very fragrant but not in a bad way

should i have thinned the large leaves on the top 1/2 of the plants to give more light penetration to the bottom 1/2 of the plant?
is it worth doing it now?

ok another boring update
seems like ive gone from some bud sites to lots of bud sites to starting to build colas.......
this is the nervous time............thieves ............ mold.................pests..........etc
for some reason im way behind last years harvest date........by this point i had some hairs turning orange and the colas were already full.................from looking at some i have to think i still have 4 more weeks..........

Yikes! Looks good, but those are some ideal looking mold conditions where I live, especially if you have a rainy season coming up. Seems like they still have a while to go

ok ........last week of october and last year my plants were finishing up (i grew 2 mold resistant strains) by this time
so looking at my grow id say i have a few strains that are getting closer....with prob 3 weeks to go
then i have some that look like a full 4 weeks and some even as much as 6 weeks
am i the only outdoor grower suffering from later than normal flowering times?
and its neohio........so that means lower temps and massive amounts of humidity and mold potential.......and everyone thinks this shit is easy
ok update......
what i originally thought was a nute spike turns out to b some kinda diff mold........diff than ive seen before....it seems to infect and kill fan leaves and then moves to the buds.....
only a few bad areas on a few smaller plants
i cut out the bad parts (like when u get a bad part of an apple) then i spray with my 50% alcohol spray and turn up the circulation and ventilation a touch.............this is just what growing g/h bud in NE ohio is like.....some years its free from mold but most years its a struggle
so far jilly bean and ice cream seem to b the only ones semi effected (these are also some of the most trich covered plants......)
the super bud and the sputnik seem to b the fuller colas with no noticable issues...........
so we go on.........every day or every 2 days ill water pictures and cut out bad spots........looks like im busy till through all of october...........

ok mini update
i think what i thought was mold might have been a PH or Over nute problem....causing issues with leaves on a few of the plants which in turn rotted making me think i had mold issues (which i will eventually.......its neohio during the wettest part of the year)
im cutting out the bad and spraying every 2 days..........at this point its just a small problem
im going to probably just cut down the crappy looking plants early and make something out of them
overall still looking good
next year im going to b making tons of changes............each year i need to improve
the sputnik seems to b my best greenhouse strain this year..........very fast and zero (so far) mold issues or even potential ...........nice cola formation with nice amount of trichs

ok 2day update
well ohio weather was nice today but lots of humidity and rain coming
the Jilly Bean seems to NOT b very mold tolerant......had to basically cut down 1 today cause of signs of impending mold (it was still early in flowering and already mold issues on a few but this one had the potential to b a major hassle so i just killed it)
with 8 new strains im sure ill pick 1 early winner and 1 late winner for next years grow...
the Sputnik seems to b my best overall strain
the fastest (with some hairs turning colors) nice cola formation and so far zero mold issues (holding breath for 2 more weeks)
lots of lessons learned and many new ideas for next year......

O

overgrow

Guest
Those pics are blurry to me but anyway how did the JB turn out I grew it indoors and in greenhouse . I wasn't impressed with it . It only grew about 3 1/2 ft and not a very good producer . I have found if I get plants to crowded in my greenhouse it causes bug problems what about you ? Anyway nice grow .

the Jilly Bean was purchased for head stash so yield isnt really the focus on this strain
im still growing it.........in the g/h and indoors
the g/h experiment with JB isnt very good.........lots of trichomes but seems like its almost attracted to mold lol............
the indoor is still too young to tell so stay tuned.............
some strains are great for g/h and some are not.........
i decided to stay positive and take whatever i can yield wise from this g/h run...
so far im seeing a few really good g/h plants and a few really bad ones.....
so far the super bud (aka big bud from GHseeds) and the sputnik are my best g/h potential producers.............
next year ill stick with mold resistant high yielders instead of trying to go for uber trich covered strains

ok mini update.......with rain and humidity at all time highs watering today wasnt necessary
today was about cutting down a few bad looking plants and spraying alcohol on some bad spots to keep it from spreading
if this sounds like doom and gloom it isnt.........just stating the good with the bad (unlike most growers)
gotta figure out what works and what doesnt..........gotta keep improving
(think about the electric usage of around 300 watts and the dirt expense of about 100$ this grow is going to b pure goodness no matter )))
the jilly bean just isnt working well in this climate..........while the sputnik and the big bud aka super bud look great..........(massive colas on the super bud and so far zero mold..)
id say that im starting to see the finish line for 50% of the plants.....2 weeks and ill prob b chopping.........in 4 weeks 90% will b done....

ok update
Mother Nature has kicked me in the balls last 3 weeks but now is gracing presence
next 7 days are sunny and warm with zero rain..................
i had to pull a few plants and salvage them b4 mold destruction.....
that being said.............things dont look horrible
i finally cleaned the outside (prob hurt my yield ;( )
and i think in a week ill start to harvest a few of the almost done plants and then by halloween i should b completely done..............
lot of things i would have done different.....but.............overall looks like a good year
the skywalker , the super bud, and sputnik seem to b the most tolerant
