I think tomatoes come into play because they were the closest in nutrition needs to pot. So you bought miracle grow tomato fertilizer or said that is what you were growing when the helpful store clerk asked.

Still blown away that home depot now carries hydro nutes.

im thinking sprouted strawberry seed flour tea or fertilizer.
or sprouted hops flour tea.this could start triggering the changes we are searching for by activating genes via enzymes
