See Wiser that's what I really wanted you to teach me. The one cola a branch tech. The difference is I need 16 single cola branches per plant. X 8 plants = 128 tops/single cola branches. Which is exactly how many squares are in a 4x8 scrog net with 6" squares.
That's is exactly what I want in my tent. Scrog net is ONLY just to hold from falling over, and to square off tops for uniformity. ..

that will take a really long veg period
but if you wanted to do that.....then you start topping as soo as your plant hits veg mode....so probably 3rd node of growth
you then open the very top and rub the tiny little nub off (dosnt sound right)
then when the bottom 2 nodes reach the top
you then top all of them

and then it is just math

each top gets topped into 2
so essentially you need to top 8 branches into 16
4 branches into 8
which means you start with the top 2 once you have 3
if that makes sense

then once ready for flower

remove everything below the top cluster of nodes for every top

veg for 5 days and flower

See the trick is rubbing that lil nub off so that it tops the node right after the top splintering that off with out producing an extra node. Last time I had to top the top down 2 nodes to do that which your exactly correct took another extra week veg time. And I really need to do that 2 times

This is my plan per plant times 8 plants... will require ghat I top 3 times and the first topping from like 6th node down to right above 3rd.

Your right on the veg time. I will be putting more effort into my veg stage. I have gave them OK conditions but soon I plan to upgrade those conditions. One I have just ordered a humidifier so I will have more than 35% rh in veg now. More like 65% and a dehuey for lights off . I'm way more efficient with Ec and maintaining it. I will use veg nutes. I will use 600w mh for light. And I will start using some co2 in veg. Once I'm running from clones and a mother, then I will be starting with my patent pending double top tops... That should cut veg time down and height... really it's probably a race to get the roots established more than anything.
So from double top clone to harvest 85 days... probably pushing it but who knows with some co2 addition.

I just need to make sure this is the best alternative for space and time and that really is decided on just how much veg time I will really need.

the problem with co2 is
if you are not running a sealed room
the co2 goes right out the top of the tent via carbon filter
even with the fan turned off during co2
it isnt enough to really make it worth the time and money

if you are gonna build a sealed room
all of that
dehuey/humi/co2 will be supreme

I been working on the room downstairs to get it sealed off. That's my plan. I didn't think that my 71 inch ceiling would be high enough. After these last 3 grows I know that's well enough. So I should have it ready for summer.

here is a super secret

get a big black hefty bag

bunch your buds together
put the bag over the buds and tie it off....

while the buds are still hanging

as in garbage bag open slide up and over buds and tie at top

check every few hours
when the buds get squishy again ( feel through the bag)

drop the bag
