Did i just kill my plant by supercropping

Anyone know if you can super Crop the main stem at 1/2 Inch thick. Maybe using a pair of Pliers or a better tool to compress the Stem the perfect amount to get a 45 Degree Bend?

Instead of pliers how about a tube bender that electricians use to bend conduit? Harbor freight sells several types starting about $20
