If I had a sponser or a credit card I'd go for it brother. Just ain't got that initial money right now. When I get moved I'll be able to turn some of that harvest into more grow equipment.Thats pretty dope
as for the bulbs...I ran the super cheap $16.00 units from 1000bulbs
but Horti's are supposed to be the best
as for me...I have climbed on the LED train myself
in a 5x5 your canopy will probably be about a 4x4 I would be running about 20 COB LED emitters running about 50 watts each which would put you at 50 watts per sqft literally....at about 1K watts but you would be sitting at about 1200 PPFD which would put you over the Gavita range of high end industrial production and net you about 3.5-4#
but for HID I would say 2 600's....the thing about LED is the startup cost...but watt for watt the LED murders HID
the problem that everyone has in LED arguments is that LED users are always trying to cut down on energy ... the point of LED and that is where HID guys get snippy...the reality is watt for watt...there is really no comparison
if you ran 600 watts of Cree CXB 3590 led COB's against a 600 horti...the Horti would be a joke in gpw...as the led would produce on average 900g/2#dry weight as apposed to 450g/1#..and that is on average
but for HID in a 4x4 I would rather go with 2 600's as opposed to say a double ended or a 1K
just my opinion.....the 1200W will get you 2# or a little more
That's bad ass. You don't recommend any blue spectrum at all in flowe?View attachment 607323
here is my new setup
What about veg. I have that 12blub t5 but font like to run it unless I weave multiple plants under it. I think it keeps my autos too small so I've been doing Some experimenting on how long I keep them under fluorescent. With my photos it'll be a different story. They'll stay under the t5 a lot longer.the Horti's have enough blue spectrum to do the job percectly.....because of the fact that cannabis is flowering and ending the cycle later in the year where blue isnt as prevalent as the hues change with the progression of winter months and what the atmosphere allows through
Man you got me really wanting to try those. I need to save up...@str8smokn
it is 2 Tasty Led T2-2100 lights....and then I made the frame myself
it was about 700 total....the reason why I got them was because it is being run by a 2.1amp Meanwell which can actually hold 3 COB's so eventually I am gonna get to more COB's ....take these apart and run 6 total
they are being run a little harder at 75watts each
thses lights have set me back about a week behind what HPS has done for me....but the flowers look alot frostier and healthier at this point.....with the HPS she is a 50 day strain and she looks like she is gonna be a 60 day strain with the LED which is on point with exactly where cookies should be at
with 6 LED's i will be running about 1 COB per 1.5 sqft that is 75 watts per sqft which is rediculous......so the way I will be making it is the bars on the outside and two passive pin sinks in the middle on a similar frame
@Midwestjay
of course brother....thats what we are all here for......
yeah I am pretty stoked....but....if I could do it all over again I would do this
just cuz I love doin shit myself....so I just build the frame how I want and drop them in....remote driver outside the room.....
