Thas about what it sells for here Canadian. I havent paid for wood in almost 10 years though, knock on wood. So many big trees here there is usually plenty to scavenge if you have a saw, truck and a half decent back.man, you wanna take a trip state side and bring me some of that? A cord is going for ~$300 down here now and I need to buy some before it gets much deeper into the season. That expense will save at least $50/month through April by keeping the heat pump from blasting non-stop. With the forecasted La Nina coming in, it's gonna be a cold one this winter, so wood burning in the fireplace will be a nice reprieve, especially when getting home from a nice winter ride.
Well I'm gonna have extra. Plan is to call 4 of them my "recreational" quota and gift them to a few lucky Canucks here.Never mind the wood i want a tray of those wedding things he's got going
Nice looks similar to here. That tree you're up against looks like the size of the one I got 3 years ago off the golf course.I've got a fir out in my land that's probably 30 feet round at the base, and I can walk under/between it's roots standing up. I think it's a Douglas Fir, could be a Pacific Red Cedar, I forget. But lots of both of them on my property out there.
So many trees laying down on there side out there, leave pits with roots sticking 25-30 feet in the air, and look like bomb craters.
yeah, i'm kicking myself for not doing so. haven't really needed it aside from the occasional get together around the fire pit the past couple years, but this year's forecast caught me off guard. and shit, i'm from the desert. this is the first place i've lived that (a) has a fireplace and (b) actually heats up well enough to justify using it. The place my neighbor recommended kiln dries their wood for whatever that's worth. $300 delivered is worth it to me since both our trucks are down atm and the forecast caught me with my pants down lol really need to go pull a transmission from a wrecked Chevy in the junkyard and get the silverado back on the road. Sucks not having a truck.Thas about what it sells for here Canadian. I havent paid for wood in almost 10 years though, knock on wood. And shit tobh, you probably know this but you should buy wood a year or two before you need it. Can't ever trust how well dried and seasoned it is.
Looks like the area I'm in, though I'm in the city. Can't wait to buy some land out in the sticks, will force me to find a bunch of new shit to bitch about hahaYea, I've got dozens laying on that ground that big. Need to figure out how to make use of them before they all rot. lol Such rugged terrain out there, thus the problem. This is the hardwood maple stand, up on the northern edge.

Im a Canuck too. Its just not fairWell I'm gonna have extra. Plan is to call 4 of them my "recreational" quota and gift them to a few lucky Canucks here.
I'm from Hawaii, lived in Michigan and visited Sudbury Canada for our Thanksgiving...Does that count?Im a Canuck too. Its just not fair
No.I'm from Hawaii, lived in Michigan and visited Sudbury Canada for our Thanksgiving...Does that count?
On this note, @Kanzeon, @Aqua Man, @GNick55 , @Mr.GreenthumbOG, any interest?Well I'm gonna have extra. Plan is to call 4 of them my "recreational" quota and gift them to a few lucky Canucks here.
Yea, me too bro. I mean, I got hit pretty hard a few years back, luckily I had insurance to cover (most) of my damage. The plan has been trying to make a transition eventually, one day. I've lived here in Seattle for over a decade, never had people fuck with me, or mine, whatsoever. All this propaganda about how bad it is here. I've got a barracks sitting in the back of my truck outside, been sitting there for years, tools, even $5 change still sitting in the console. (for years unlocked) Always watching.Looks like the area I'm in, though I'm in the city. Can't wait to buy some land out in the sticks, will force me to find a bunch of new shit to bitch about haha
you're lookin in the same area as I am. I'm looking at some properties up around Chehalis and surrounding. Far enough out that the Longview and Tacoma tweekers won't venture but close enough that the family is still within a couple hours of a hospital if it's needed. I'm in the Vancouver/Portland area and I'm sick of it. Been here seven years, several other cities prior to here. Grew up on a ranch in rural New Mexico and always dreamt of city life. Have had it for almost two decades and I'm ready to get back to the land. All I need is a solid internet connection so I can do my job, but otherwise all the other conveniences of city life can go away.Yea, me too bro. Go out there, and within a year, all the methheads hit me like gangbusters. It was depressing, I've pulled back this last year or two to see how I need to approach it differently, without hurting anyone, hopefully. It's challenging to get a handle on somethings going on out there, if I'm not always onsite. They will steal rocks, or trees even. Can't even keep a lock on my shipping container, they will steal the camera's out of the trees, hillbilly sasquatch bastards.
Living in the city, and out that way presents many different challenges, always keep that in mind if you try to do it. I'm from the sticks originally, so I get it a little, but it's two very different worlds. I guess I've been in the city for so many decades, perhaps. Those fucking rednecks will simply steal anything off my land, and carry it off on their backs. Very irritating. It's like a horde of them out there, lurking behind every tree. loll
I've been looking at 20 acres down in Klamath, I might sell my land. Haven't made up my mind yet. It's a headache.
Yea, me too. I mean I'd be out there right now if it wasn't for the old lady, I would just get a couple of big dogs, the guns, the bow, it would be the last time even one of them creeps would come into that entire canyon, but I can't dedicate that much time to it. There's lots of million dollar cabins all around me there, a 1/4 mile long waterfall 50 meter from my land. I hate to give up the dream, TBH.you're lookin in the same area as I am. I see it more like growers thrive here more so than cannabis. Weed really prefers to live below the 47th parallel. The PNW is so wonderful, we are truly fortunate. It is among the greatest place on earth, IMO. I've been a lot of places. She's like the emerald of North America. There's a reason why the good weed is grown here. Cannabis really loves a marine environment.
Getting expensive for heating whatever your source is. Natural Gas has been so affordable for so long. Wood heat rocks if you live somewhere to harvest your own. But at 300$us a cord. Ouch. Hope La Niña isn’t what it could be, could be in for a cold winter. Makes sense after record heat in the summer to have extreme cold in the winter.man, you wanna take a trip state side and bring me some of that? Wow. Some beautiful land @Frankster.Yea, I've got dozens laying on that ground that big. Need to figure out how to make use of them before they all rot. lol Such rugged terrain out there, thus the problem. This is the hardwood maple stand, up on the northern edge.
I'm considering selling right now actually, another offer on the table, I don't know, I'm so attached to this land. It's such a difficult choice for me. I feel what there offering isn't worth even a fraction of the trees themselves.
Cant grow weed under this canopy, that's for sure.
