You're only going to be tracked by your phone if you've been stupid enough to give someone a reason to track you. Play it safe, stick to the golden rule.... tell no one.... And you'll be fine. Still, alternating every so often on no contract pre-paid providers also helps.

I personally do not use a cell phone. I am going to be purchasing an eeepc, combine that with a gsm card, and you can make calls totally normal like any other phone, except now you are using a computer, and you know what is inside of it.

Cell phones are just another tool the government uses to conduct ops; there are more secure, better options out there.
