i wouldnt use clay, or a jar - you need something solid and metal - a very small saucepan would be good - but you want something that doesnt have a non stick surface...

its a problem with high heat for extended periods of time - my kid gave me a set of fairly expensive pots/pans for xmas - there is a warning on the box about boiling/cooking on high heat...

dont know if there is an issue with the sulfur- but Id rather be safe then sorry - I am after all gonna smoke what I grow!

so i got a sulfur vaporizer these things are very effective i really hope they kill this damn moth larva with the mold that i can only relate to cutworms or catapilars or something

I took the plunge and bought a vaporizer too - found it for 100 bux - not bad...

I think its more effective to hang the burner and I dont have a lot of extra room in my grow area.

Just use you ole lady's waffle skillet when was the last time you had waffles anyway. I am amazed at people worrying about non stick for their plants. JK

"The nonstick coating used in Teflon pans has been found to release one or more of 15 different toxic gases when heated to certain temperatures. Which chemicals are released depends on the temperature of the pan. This outgassing is fatal to pet birds and can cause "polymer fume flu," also known as "Teflon flu," in humans.

Teflon flu creates flu-like symptoms of chills, headache, fever and nausea. Usually, symptoms subside within a few days, and chances are many people who have experienced it mistook it for the flu. However, there are also more serious risks.

One of the main chemicals used in the manufacturing process of Teflon and other nonstick pans is perflurooctanoic acid (PFOA) also known as C-8. This chemical has led to cancer and birth defects in lab animals, and may have led to birth defects in DuPont plant workers. In 2005, an independent panel reporting to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) declared PFOA a likely human carcinogen.

Though DuPont is quick to point out the safety of Teflon and to distance it from the chemical PFOA, studies show Teflon cookware releases PFOA when heated to 680°F (360°C). This temperature can be reached within a few minutes if, for example, a forgotten pan is left empty preheating on a burner. DuPont acknowledges this, but points out that this is incorrect use of the cookware."

Hope this helps

how long does it take the sulfur burner to heat up? it says to run it at night and in the tent ive got this problem in i dont have a way to check it when the lights are off to see if its burning... could i run it on 15-30 minute intervals or longer to ensure no burning occurs?

also, what are the ramifications of running sulfur passed a certain point in flower?
