I am a MASTIFF hoarder..lol ..we have on our farm; Turkish Mastiff (Anatolian Shepherd),Spanish Mastiff (Presa Canario) x Brazillian Mastiff(Fila Brasiliero) and of course my boy Samson the Bull Mastiff. I will try and get a pic of them all together...we bred our presa/fila female to Samson and produced some solid pups. We kept 1 pup and he is 94 lbs. at 6 1/2 mos. being fed raw diet since he could chew. These dogs are extremely stubborn and very strong willed...I am constantly on them and they need alot of patience when training. Visitors are few and far between around our place...our dogs will not accept any food or favours from anyone period. Guarding/protection comes naturally to the Mastiff breed, our Fila x though is a different animal altogether...she flat-out lives to hate on strangers or trespassers... the faithful bitch she is!

here is my killer. She is a rednose/Bluenose pit. I never train my dogs to be killers. They will natuarly protect there owners and her propertry. I recently had a guy jump my fence while I was back there with her. She went balistic, That guy was lucky he barely got away!

Samson is a super good looking mastiff, I have been thinking about getting a Bull Mastiff for quit some times. I have done a lot of reading about Bull Mastiffs & have meet a few people that have them & I have to say that they are one of the nicest breeds out there, for guard/family type dogs. :sign0005:

I have a 100% AKC registered Razors egde bully and some crazy pit mix who can jump my 6 foot fence Both are smart and well trained guard dogs trained them myself with just repetition and letting them know I'm alpha male and what I say goes. There amazing with new people as long as I am there if not good luck petting them without loosing a finger. I go to Vegas every year to celebrate the end of my OD season and I have a chill ass nieghtbor who doesn't smoke who watches the house for me who's been over 20+ times and he has to throw dog food over the fence to saftley feed them when I'm on vacation. Pits are hands down one of the best family guard dogs. Safe thc link https://www.thcfarmer.com/community/attachments/img_2581-jpg.164518/

unsocialized game bred pit bulls.

a cliche', yes

effective,yes

They are like loaded guns. You just have to be careful.

The Fila's aint no bullshit.

They are not like regular mastiffs. The fucking HATE poeple. That is the most (without training) human aggresive breed I have ever seen.

I made my pits hate people. You dont have to make a Fila hate folks. Thats a given with those guys.

FWIW...One fucking bloodied me up...I dont hate on them. I turned my back to him. My fault...lol....I respect them more as a breed. My little 45 lb bitch straight fucked up my homies 12o lb English mastiff (trim party accident...made me sick). The Fila is different. Waaaaaay more game.

If you have never been attacked by a dog...or sicked one on somebody...its an experience thats is very primal...lol...

Daddy is cool with Jr.

When momma says no, she means it...lol...

We took this litter to our local farmers market and got rid of ten in one Saturday morning. She had 11 and we kept the male pick.

Very valid points however, as far as a watch/guard dog for a grow op I want the meanest mo/fo the pound has. This isnt a dog that goes home with you its a dog that lives outside amongst your plants, protecting it day in and day out. Definitly not a dog to get attached too.

I definitely feel some people should not be allowed to own animals.

I kinda agree.

There is a place for working animals, though. And most working dogs dont get love like a lap dog would. They aren't pets

I dont have a problem with a man owning a dog for reasons than love and affection.

Everybody knows what a junkyard dog is...and will do.

Guard dogs...cow dogs...bird dogs...rabbit dogs...hog dogs...

If the dog is treated with respect and kept healthy ...I dont see a problem with a guard/yard dog

Bout as year ago someone tried kicking in my back door and luckily my lab was in his kennel out back and just his barking was enough to scare them of before they got in.I would highly recommend a male lab for home protection, they are very loyal and live to protect their best friend. Not to mention the best family dog I have owned

I got a couple mountain dogs, super loyal, great w/ friends/family, good loud bark, but doesn't use right before they attack and very protective. Any thing/intruder that gets bitten by the dogs either goes to the hospital or the grave, I've only ever seen wounds like them on the discovery channel. Yet they are gentle enough to be a family dog.
