lol holy shit reading all this hoopla of dr gt vs dd is getting crazy...
over at RIU someone is pretending to be Chemdog and 100% of his post are supporting dr gt... thats a new low
DDs please come back to the farm
Wow rockin the house DD. Is this your 13 dawgz or strait G13? ... on a side note do you care if I breed a male 13dawgz to the white, i don't plan on selling any of these beans I am just gonna keep a seed stock for myself for future runs to preserve these genetics
HELL YEAH, Thanks for bringing this grow back to the farm DD's I know everyone here loves your work!! How are the 50 gal res's working out as your mini res?? If thats the main factor (besides the original G-13) that ups your yield I might be going ahead with a different sized bucket experiment. I mean hell 2 of my plants have 4 sides of light, and have 2 of the sides are double stacked 600 under a 1k HPS but no 50 gal mini res. Hell even if it created 6-7lbs a plant it would still be s killer switch for me.
Thanks for stopping by DD's

Many of you remember me talking about the "dripline" and how it affects plant yield. This was the big problem jalisco kid and i had. Well i think these pics prove wht i have been saying all along. If you take a look at my old pics and notice the shape of the plant in the 60 litre res's and then take a look at these one's well..... you get the picture. I fully beleive that the bigger the area for the roots to grow the better yield you will get. I beleive i will prove this at the end of this grow whether i reach my goal or not. It was a very funny thing to see, i started these clones in 6 inch cubes on an ebb n flood table for 2 weeks then transferred them to the 50 gallon res's. The cuttings were 2 ft tall and about 8 inches wide. The plants did not gain any more than an inch or 2 in height in 17 days of veg but they grew sideways to close to 4 ft around. This further strengthens my case about the dripline as i beleive the plant will not grow vertically until its roots have reached out and touched the sides of the containers. I cant wait to try 100 gallon res's with double stacked lights.
cheers everyone

why is he posting over there??
that site is confusing... never seen a forum like that and i been on alot, took me a while to figure it out
damn i really dont understand why he thinks he is gonna get 10lbers. it really isnt much more light than he normally uses... i really thought he be stacking the 1ks and only going for one 10lber
you might be right bro but i am trying out my dripline theory to prove once and for all that yield is governed by root growth area. Let me try and explain.
I fully beleive purple/bubba kush is an excellent yielding plant but nobody knows how to grow it properly including me..... but i think i have figured it out.
when i grew some bubba's in the same system as my g13 i noticed how well it was doing and one day it just stopped. As a typical no patients grower i just chalked it up to not working well with the same nutes as i fed the g13. After i harvested and started pulling out the net pots i found that the root system of the bubba ws 5 times bigger than the g13. the g13 was twice the height, 4 times the width and yielded 4 times as much. I had to take a sharp knife and trim all the roots off the net pot b4 i could pull it out of the lid, the g13's i pulled out through the hole no problem. I beleive this is the key, once that 60 litre res was FULL of roots the plant just stopped producing. I then saw an urban grower (bc grows mostly bubba strains) and it showed bubbas about 6 ft tall, growing in a large garbage can and the garbage can was sitting on top of another huge container full of soil. This grower new his roots were restricted so he sat one garbge can on top of another and let the roots grow down to the next container. I hope to also prove this next round when i grow my reeferman purple kush in this system.
As i said at the start of this grow my record is 5lb 7 or 9 ounces... cant remember. I also stated that ionly got that 1 time, 1 plant out of 20 and havnt come close again in 1.5 years. If i can average at least that (all 4 plants) or get close to my goal on all 4 plants i will have proven my theory and growing cannabis will again have completely changed for me and hopefully help all of you. I beleive you are correct about double stacked lights, i beleive i will need them to hit 10 but because these plants are under 4 ft tall 1 bank of lights might be good enough and all i might have to add is a light directly overtop of the plant.
hope this helps and i have explained it correctly

Hell yeah man!!!! This is just the info I have been looking for!! I might have to change out the mini res's for my first run of the DAWGZ and go to a 50 inch center with 2 sides of 1k stacked with 600's and the other 2 I'm going to bust out a little bit of crazyness (will be posted soon)
DD's How do you feel using something such as my Main res (100 gal to the top) as an MPB mini res and using something like a 300 gal tank for a main res. Too big? I have been rolling this idea around in my head for a while now and with what you show it seems to be viable.
what about with horizontal lighting dd's, have you ever try vegging the plants under a 1000 watt horizontal and once it gets to the height you are looking for then switching to verical lighting?
In my past experiences when I do vertical lighting my plants grow very little upwards regardless of the medium I am using, if using horizontal light I get very little lateral growth.. just wondering your thoughts on that..
My pk didn't stretch but a foot(maybe) just got wider and is seeming to be a decent yielder of rock hard purple nugs. Hey why didn't you ever respond to my pm's or keep your word about replacing my beaners, it's been over a year now I have been more than patient. I was a big fan of yours too and tried to be respectful and not have to act like this.
I just wanted a response sorry it took all that I appreciate the response. I'm not usually that much of an asshole I apologise as well.
sounds excellent to me, if i am proved right i will be doing the same

why does the main res need to be 300 gal? imo id make it 50...
4 plants = 450 gallons is a shit load of water
700 gallons is ridiculous for 4 plants.
at this point some would say why even have a main res...
but id be nice to have a small 50gal one outside the room for mixing nutes ect...
but if you are getting 10lbers maybe you want each bucket a different strain...
oh god the possiblities

Huge lesson here guys, you have to have a main res that you can fill on fri and only have to top up small amounts of water and nutes before you change out the system the following fri.
hope this helps mate

Thanks DD's that sounds a lot better than I put it! Funny friday is my res change day as well:)
I found a 500 gal res that will fit in my door to come inside :) now just looking for a 100 gal mini res's that will stand up nicely!!
DD's,
Why do you feel that the large net pot is better to be running in your system than the 3 gal buckets with hole in the bottom and a bit up the sides?? I kind of figured that any air to the upper root mass would in turn create tap roots which I have always read you are trying to stay away from taps in this system. Since you explain yourself so well I'm positive you can shed some light on this issue for me.
i had a few problems with the buckets holes getting clogged full and the drippers filling up the buckets and overflowing. I tried the 10 inch round net pots and havnt had a problem since.
peace
Thanks,
Giddeon
