Drying tent humidity swings ok?

Shouldnt be any issue at all. Neither of those extremes are in a bad range so if it bounces between the two, no big deal. It's daytime drops below 40 RH you want to worry about, and watch temps, you don't want to let it get up to 80 degrees or higher. If you're clear of those two things you ought to be good. We all love them terps, I'm gonna use the word VOC's, and the reason so is because they vaporize at a pretty low temperature, around the mid 70's. The more you're smelling right now, the more smell you're losing for later.

It seems my lung room dehumidifier might need replacing. Though my veg and flower rooms sit around 45 or 50rh.

I replaced the dehumidifier - it was old, and the water was going everywhere except the reservoir inside it...

My buds are doing ok. After 5 days, all is still a little moist, but no mold, so I'm hopeful in a few days they'll be ready to cure.

I've added the heater to the drying room to see if I can get it more consistent. I'm not using it in the flower room at the moment anyways.

Have you tried playing around with your buffer settings on your AC infinity controller to anticipate the ups and downs to try and keep it within a target range?

I have a higher humidity problem mainly so have set my lung room humidity to 55% and then attached some ducting with an intake as pictured from the very side of my house dehumidifier which runs to the tent intake. Takes a bit of adjustment to ensure temps are kept below 21 Deg C and maintain around 60%.

I'm hitting the same issues in my space.. I have a 5x5 and a 2x4 in 1 room.. 21 plants in the 2x4 and 7 flowering females in the 5x5.. humidity keeps spiking on me here and there.. one suggestion I'd give is cleaning or having your a coil cleaned in your ac unit.. it helps run more efficiently and removes more water when clean. Dehuey is counterproductive in summer.. as it gives off heat..

If you're rich... get an ac unit with Mcorr technology

My ac is brand new. My lung room dehumidifier is now brand new. I can't get away from the 40% swing. It basically from 40 to 80 - averaging 58 to 60. Temps are much more stable running 61 to 66. There's no mold and it's drying slow, so I'm ok with it at this point.

Hey Spase little more feedback for you.
From the graph the AC and the fan are on at the same time to bring temp down and as a result of AC activity the humidity drops. It looks like this is a trigger setting somewhere in the app. One of the things I do not like about the apps is that it will let you do stuff that is not logical like a trigger on lower than trigger off in auto. You think you are in target where you want humidity to track and adjust but it is following some other screen cause a button got hit.
Your AC trigger. Is it on a target with a single number or is it in auto mode with a off at 60 and an on at 64. Cause if the valleys and the peaks match the off and on status of those 2 items ( I can not scroll I tried 5 times now ) then it's just doing what it's told.

That's one thing I don't like either. It took me a while to figure it out. I couldn't get my fan to come on when I set it. There was another trigger it was going by.

I've never set automation before. I usually just set the number I want. Have not used the buffer much either.

The controller takes a while to get used to it. Right now I have the humidity trigger set for the exhaust fan because I'm drying but normally will set the fan for temperature.

In the summer though, I can't get under 62 to 65%.

I found out the way to get my tent dialed was to figure out what I can NOT control.
I can not control the temp of my basement so I stopped trying.
I can control the humidity in the basement going up with a dehumidifier turned off and whole house settings but max is 55%
I can control the temp in the tent going up with a thermoforge.
I can control the humidity in the lung room going down with a dehumidifier and a fan for air transfer.
I can control the humidity in the tent going up with a cloudforge
I still have limits. I can not get below 45% humidity at any temp in the tent.
Ok rainy days I have to floor the night temp at 70 degrees due to running the big dehumidifier.
None of those are out of specs for growing pot.

I'm a bit lost in the details of this thread. So, I think a picture of the drying tent and the equipment would be helpful. Here are just a few thoughts...

I have a 2x2x3 drying tent. I don't dehumidify it or the room it's in. There's no air conditioner, either. We only heat the room during the cold months. We open the windows during the warm months. There is a low-volume exhaust fan at the top of the tent and a circulation fan inside it. I don't use a controller for that tent. I have a hygrometer inside and outside the tent. (The next revision is likely to have more features, though.) With that uncomplicated setup, the weed dries quite well. So, I don't see a need for complexity. I've known cannabis to dry well in a shed without any tech at all. The best part of using a tent is keeping it dark inside, IMO, of course.

One problem I've seen with small tents is it can be difficult to stabilize the environment inside the tent. I suspect it's due to the low volume of air inside the tent. So, what seems like a minor change can instead have a significant effect. The best way that I've found to deal with environmental instability is to minimize environmental changes, for example, by lowering the exhaust fan speed. A 2x2x4 tent has only 16 cubic feet of air, whereas fans can move air in hundreds of CFM. I suspect that a rapid exchange of air puts the controller in a difficult state due to the rapidly changing environment inside the tent.

If, for example, the exhaust is running at 100 CFM and the tent has a volume of 16 Cu Ft, the air inside the tent will be exchanged 6.25 times per minute, or about once every 10 seconds. With a sensor inside the tent, it is, in effect, not sensing inside air. It's sensing outside air while trying to control inside air. I'm sure this is an issue for all tents. I just think it's more problematic for small tents. This might be why lung rooms with a large volume of air can be helpful.

It's a 2x2x4 tent for my drying. It vents to my flowering room without a fan, so the flower vent fan (running at max 24/7) is the drying room vent fan. My flowers seem to be doing very well. And the drying buds seem ok so far. The fan you see is just to keep air in the tent moving.

The heater didn't seem to help. I have the ac infinity dehumidifier on order. Maybe that'll help stabilize the humidity.

I skimmed this thread so I’m not sure if it’s already been said but this is what I do. I run the dehumidifier in the lung room. I keep it about 50-55 rh. I bought an ink bird that is for humidity. I run a little fan on a saucer of water in my tent as a humidifier and a cheap 6 inch in-line fan from Lowe’s as my dehumidifier. The inkbird will turn them on and off and keep the humidity from 59-61 percent or whatever I set it to. It works like a charm and always stays in the range I set as long as you can keep your lung room below your target rh. I also have another tiny fan in there just for circulation. You would be amazed at how fast a 10 dollar fan on a saucer of water will raise your humidity in a tent.

I'm putting this first batch into jars now. The hygrometer is up to 56 now and still rising. Hopefully I didn't dry it to much...
The plant is still in the room too. I didn't figure the lower branches would take this long to mature.
I weighed the bit of dried bud out to 18.7 grams. Hopefully I'll get more than that off the rest of it. The other plant is really bulking up. I'm still hopeful that one will give me 4 Oz or more.

The reading in my jar is up to 60. Did I over dry this batch? Should I add some of the bovida 62 packs?

I use vivosun, cheaper as well. Ive learned this trough this app, I dried my sheet and put in jar, or so I thought, I put a humidifier gage in, it read 81%, guess I should of dried longer....put a pack in wah-lah.
