I've smoked a bit. It burns nicely. Tastes a little grassy, but it's not too bad, not harsh. It's been very not smelly. I think the rest, which I've cut down, might have a little more flavor - hopefully I dry that a little better and can get a good cure on it. I'm still curing the rest of this. I'll smoke a little each week and see the progression. The humidity packs should help some.

I've got the whole plant curing now. The 26 grams that just finished drying smells better than the early harvest already. Total dried weight about 42 grams. It was small but it's alright.
The sativa has taken over the whole room. Nothing looking amber yet. It's about 9 weeks and a few days at this point. I should be seeing amber soon!

Captain has made a comment that some sativa or sativa crosses never show amber.
Marty has one of caps Maui86 that went 11 weeks. I am sitting 3 m86 approaching that time and 1 peaceblaster. All look clear. On your pic of the plant, did you remove all the fans or did they do it themselves? You also may have a nanner.

I did some removal, but they mostly took themselves out.

I am seeing that the coloring is mostly red/orange. The buds do seem to be getting larger still. It's probably getting close. I'll keep a good eye on it and hopefully not go too long. I'm really thinking it's got at least a week or 2.

I'm about to harvest my first grow. I set up a tent for drying. I've got controls on it, but the humidity is swinging from 47 to 73 to get my 60 average. Are these swings ok?
I've stuck a dehumidifier in it to see if I can get it to swing less. I'm starting harvest today. I can't leave the dehumidifier in for drying.

I dry/cure my plants in a large old wine cooler, with AC Infinity, controller and a cheap small dehumidifier in the cooler. The cooler keeps the contents at 58*. My humidity does fluctuate about the same as you humidity. I feels as long as you average approximately 60% you will be good. What are you tent temps?

I just bought a larger version of this dehumidifier for my home. So far i like it, but in a drying tent I would be concerned over the heat it would generate in a tent.

They're literally all over. Should I just harvest at 9.5 weeks?

I cut her down today - tomorrow would have been 10 weeks. Trichs are there - not much amber, but not all sativa plants will color much. The buds are big and dense and sticky, and the hairs are mostly red. It's got my 2x2x4 tent full. I just ditched all the hermie buds at the bottom and anything that looked mostly herm.
This harvest is taking up so much room I took out the humidifier. It seemed too close to the buds. I think I can manage with the lung room dehumidifier and the ac.

Here's the last part I harvested off the Indica. It's about 26 grams when it was dry. It's still curing. With the early harvest i did, total about 40g on that one. It was small. I'm thinking the sativa should be about 125g.

You could have just pulled the nanners. You’re so late in flower they can’t do much if they were to pollinate.

I dont believe they were nanners, they looked like pistils to me. Mine did the same at about 8-9 weeks usually due to heat / high light levels.

I had been running them pretty hot. I've got high co2 levels so I think that was good. I had started to let the light level decrease.

I think I managed to get it about right. Tried some of the dried sativa and it's got some potency. The flavor was pretty neutral anyways. Hopefully it gets a little nicer with the cure.

Pics aren't the best but I don't see nannas I see new bud growth, ie foxtailing. When genetic, not much you can do. When stress you can back off the light a little to get it to calm down a little. She's not seeded yet and dying so she's trying one last ditch effort throwing sticky pistils at the top hoping to catch some pollen in the wind.

So that's what foxtailing is...

Foxtails are bad imo, when the bud runs, stress. But that's when they stack up and stretch into fingers, too much new growth and white pistilolas.

Some just hang their bud for couple weeks, you can leave a couple small buds aside for trying other methods, you might find you don't need to go to a lot of trouble to get dry flavourful buds.

After a little cure, the sativa is smoking pretty nice. The flavor is just ok, but it's smooth enough and does the job. The Indica is maybe a touch tastier, though it's got a week on the sativa. It's not quite as stoney. Either way, I'm pretty happy. It should just get better from here!

The cure continues. The rh has settled around 62 in my jars. 61 to 63 this morning. I'm leaving the 61 sealed with it's hygrometer and 62% packet. I opened the others a few minutes and pulled my kolas out and fluffed them a bit. I'll stop with the fluffing and just open the 63%ers a few more times. They're smelling nice. It's probably not quite enough to get us through to our next harvest, but we won't need to buy much more. This has been a very successful experiment!
