Drying the whole plant vs. drying individual branches...help!

They should be beginning to dry on the outside, will probably be moist on the inside. If you jar up a few buds right now (or whatever you plan to put them in) they might become completely moist all over again. Try it, I think that will help you get a feel for what's going on.

Sea that sounds like good advice...I think i'll take maybe a branch of nugs and start curing them.

I actually had taken a bud off my plant right as I chopped it...actually it fell off...but I kept it and just put it on a small ledge inside my grow cab to let it dry along with the plant. I gotta say...something is weird about this specific small bud (.1 gram). it seems to be of the typical dime bag marijuana you get from dealers...still squishy...but not that much. I guess when big pushers chop or get their crop they really rush it and just probably let it dry for a day or two and then hit the streets with it.

I usually dry branch by branch just because I trim faster when I break the plant apart.

Being a small-time grower, I harvest by the bud/s or branch... ONLY as they ripen.

When drying your plants in a dark room , do you check your plants everyday while they are drying and if yes can light get in the drying room when entering the room and can you have a light on in your room while your in drying room?

Help me out on this though...when I do chop my plant she will be starved for water most likely so that already is helping my drying time. Since slower drying is considered better...would the air flowing through my small cab from my inline fan not be enough to slowly dry my buds?

I also have a 6 inch small fan that I have in my cab right now that I have had blowing on my plant...should I leave that fan inside my cab blowing on my buds at the lowest speed...which like you said would make them move slightly....on top of the inline fan I have?

I'm in no real rush to dry so I was gonna give my plant a week to dry before bags or curing...so would a small fan + inline fan be overkill and dry my plants out faster than they need to be?

Also taking into consideration that my temps in my room would be around the range of 70-83 degrees currently 40% humidity.

does anyone google anything or just ask the dumbest questions about the most simple things if you attempted to find the info out for yourself. I have no idea how we survived without social media. Love helping but we helped so many so much now people need to be spoon fed and sorry if u don't want to learn how to grow as much or more than me we ain't the same.

I've got 14 photo to dry come harvest time and am building a 128cf room with a hepa air purifier and programable dehumifier. Two passive 4 inch HEPA intake filters and two 4 inch 100 cfm exhaust fans. It will be wood framed with black plastic sheathing and mounted on a pallet plywood frame on the concrete barn floor. The air purifier is rated for removing mold spores and the dehumifier can be set at 50 -55- 60 rh etc. The excess cfm exhaust vs intake should take care of the heat from the dehumidifier.Thoughts?????

Anyone mind schooling me on the pro's and con's of hanging the whole plant to dry and chopping individual branches for drying?

Could use any advice seeing as how i'm going to harvest in about a week.

If you have an absolutely perfect drying condition 60% rh and 60% rh then I would suggest wet trimming. If you temps are a bit high then you want to leave more of the plant. If you have a high rh the you want to have less of the plant. You want it to take about 14 days or more to dry. If it goes to fast it will taste like shit. If it goes to slow it can grow mold.
