I do two light de-foils; they're due for the 2nd one now that the stretch has slowed. Anything that is healthy, is taking in taking in co2, stripping the carbon and expelling o2; at the same time as "feeding" the colas (even leaves that are shaded contribute). The added transpiration, causes turgidity, which in turn causes the plant to suck up more water and nutrients. This equals more colas and biomass. Even the yellowing leaves are giving up their mobile nutrients.

~95–99% of all carbon in a plant comes from the air
— specifically from CO₂ absorbed through the leaves during photosynthesis.

Only 1–5% of the plant’s carbon comes from the soil, and even that is indirect (microbial inputs, root exudates, etc.).
Plants do not get carbon from soil minerals — they get nutrients from soil, but carbon comes from the atmosphere.

🌿 What percentage of a plant’s dry mass is carbon?

A plant’s dry biomass is typically:

⭐ ≈ 45% carbon (range 40–50%)

This varies by species:

Wood / trees: ~50% carbon

Herbaceous plants: 40–45% carbon

Agricultural crops: 40–48% carbon

So nearly half of all dry plant matter is just carbon pulled straight from atmospheric CO₂.

I know @Eledin aready knows this, I'm typing for the benefit of others who read this thread.

Plus I'm high af and feel like jabbering

🤣👊😎🤣
You got quite the jungle yourself there too hahaha beatiful, do you have a journal? I feel like you did and since I came back Im missing a couple of people's journals.

Believe it or not I removed a bunch of leaves already but it doesnt look like it hahaha. I think Ill do a bit every day, when theyre naked Ill take a picture.
Also since the plan for the big living soil pot had to be delayed, Im gonna use the rotation crop method in the soil to reuse it because otherwise I have to use 50/50 because of the nitrogen that the roots release. Ill be growing lettuces in the used soil (leafy greens are great for taking nitrogen) and after harvest it should be ready to ammend for weed again.

For anyone wanting to reuse the substrate, you can do the same. Plant some leafy greens like spinach, lettuce or something like that and they will take the excess nitrogen from the dead roots in the soil. If you dont have leafy greens just plant lentils, a bunch of them, you can use them as cover crop later on too if you want to and they will release the nitrogen back in a slower manner.

Nice jobs Eledin! Congratulations : ) ✌️

For the bottom and mid section buds but it never hurts. They are useful, I shared a study the other day where yields were increased by 20%+/- (but there were no images provided about set up so this might not be true for all methods, specially not if you only keep the upper colas and lollipop the rest) in the trainwreck thread. I noticed the difference, specially in the mid section buds, but I failed to create an even distribution of light by refusing to remove leaves and I think that hurted the 2 that are furthest away from the side lights, which have smaller mid section buds and less mature.
Well if you make big plants like i did now i can see the 20%.bottom is just yellow leafs

And grow is not done until jars are sealed

Forgot to add: I dont use the microorganisms for the soil to break down chlorophyll, they dont, I use the lactobacillus I make and enzymes. Well I use lactobacillus in the soil, I meant that I dont use great white for this and thats why chlorophyll is a problem in the soil if you dont have LAB.

I just used lacto micro-organisms to make a DOPE fuckin tomato sauce... 3/4 sweet cherry tomato and 2 beefsteaks cut into chunks with garlic, shallot and herbs, serranos for the heat. Strained it after blending and silted in enough to make it commercial hot sauce thickness.
I want shot glasses of it lol.

Lactofermentation is really good, you can do "pickled" pickles too, theyre not really pickled but you can make them crunchy the same way and they have probiotics. Anything lactofermented is good for you, but some things you need to be careful to not get intoxicated and follow the recipes to avoid bad microorganisms.

I really want to make some fermented pine needle soda but where I live now there's no pine trees 😒
Also I was supsoed to upload the ammendments today but the delivery guy didnt come, probably couldnt find my house, happens often. Should be here tomorrow, I hope he/she calls me this time instead of leaving...

Seneca Indian thing around here. Purely vinegar ferments I quit alcohol after daily drinking 25 years.

Its time to prepare the soil for the next run, Im 1 week late, Im always late aaaaah, procastination. And I love taking care of them imagine with something I dont like doing. Anyway for this run Im going with the following:
Peat soil as usual
Soil conditioners: perlite, coco coir, vermiculite, arlite, pine tree bark and biochar.
Soil ammendments: kelp meal, alfalfa meal, dolomite lime with pulverized eggshells, leonardite, volcanic rock dust (basalt and azomite), pure bat guano, diatomaceous earth, neem meal, palm tree ash and worm castings.

Wow thats a lot of stuff, isnt it a pain in the ass? Yes, but I still like doing it 😛 most of the times anyway...

I choped half of it in the dark, the other half Im not even gonna try to chop it in the dark with all the jungle I have in there. It had to be one in the back -.- oh well, at least I wont be mutilating the ones from the other indoors now hahaha. A couple of buds from the haul, still half plant to go when the lights go on:

Can you spot the naners? ;) I have not seen an open one yet or any seed so maybe itll be fine or just a very small ammount of seeds. The other plants are maturing accordingly to the chart so I doubt they got pollinated or maybe just a small bud here and there.
Sorry about the quality of the pictures, I need my friend's phone to take good pictures and he's not here. My camera sucks and my hands tremble.
Love The Color.....

The old timer I’ve talked to would layer nutrients and stuff within the pot so once the plant reached it was available. I dont know anything about bio char but the idea layering and all is definitely a thing : )

Dude your plants are looking fire!😍 ✌️
I had issues with layering and now don't. I've seen it in a plan for a feild though.
