If you are serious about continuing to grow, take a look at the blue lab or hanna pens. They come in combinations sets so you get a PH tester and A PPM/EC Tester. They are accurate and will last, my current set is about 3 years old. I am more of a buy it once and forget about it than an Amazon buy it 5 times so Bezos can make more money!

I know I've added to his wealth but hey nowhere else can I shop for everything I need? WalMart? MaPa' grow shops that cost double - triple.HomeDepot? They're all owned by billionaires except the small locals I can't afford. I'm just pissed at their shipping times now fking 3 weeks for a 2 day Prime order?

There is so much 'Bro-science' going around right now it's scary.

Read up on its benefits " Use as a growth enhancer with irrigation water, or in addition to your regular fertilizers. In addition, your plants will experience improved heat and cold tolerance, stress resistance and light absorption, which leads to greater plant stature." GH hydroponics silicate Si

Bro-Science is when one guy says do it this way, and the other guy says, 'Why?' and the first one says, "it always worked for me."

Some are some are not. This site use to have a lot more skilled growers and not the bro science stuff. Sure they used their noodle and tried stuff and if it worked they continued to use it. Just remember with Magazines they are for profit and I really doubt you are going to get any ground breaking information out of those mags. The best information I have found on this site comes from years ago, I say this a lot but I have found it to be useful. In the upper right corner there is a search tool. If you look up Jackmayoffer, that is a great place to start looking up growing techniques. As you read his posts you can develop an idea of the people with knowledge and the me too crowd as well. Than you can use the search tool to find information about the other growers you feel have it going on. He does not post on here much anymore. I was told he went to work for a well knows socal group called Jungle Boys. I believe the OG's have sold out but he may still be over there. You can also follow them on Insta but they do a lot of product promotions now so not much good valuable information. Check out Gettogrow as well.

I guess I am pretty lucky. The local hydro store offers me product at 20 percent over cost and there is not way I want Amazon or Walmart having a digital audit of everything I have ever purchased. I prefer cash and care. Besides, Walmart and Amazon do not offer Co2 refills.

I’ll definitely check them out because I want to get back to the roots of things like roadkill skunk and Christmas tree, stuff that was gone before I was born.

It will be interesting to see how far back this forum goes, I seriously doubt you are going to get back to the 70 or 80, late 90's maybe. These forums started popping up when things started to become legal, like Cali 215 days

Damn they tried to tell you that you don’t exist.. Well I’m here to to you that you do.. but yeah I’m in north cal so a lot of grow stuff is super easy to find and cheap to buy. Literally 6 hydro stores within 10 miles.

I think this forum started in 2008.
The strains you are talking about were the bomb back then. Since then we have far surpassed the potency of those strains.

I remember when I first started smoking grapes and GDP was the one and me and my boys always talk about getting some real deal GDP or grapes.. Just on a side note I’m sick of saying real deal if anyone has a actual term

Not as tough as you might think. I know a couple of breeders that specialize in old strains.
Neither is on this forum though. I'm working on it.

I would start out by focusing on some of the better breeders around and after you have honed your skills start trying to find some of the older strains if you would like. There are people around with plants that are like 20 years old but you are not going to find them on forum sites. Just start growing and try to learn as much as you can about something each day or week depending on your time restrictions. The one thing I would suggest is to keep it simple stupid to start and get the first crop completed. I tell everyone to start out in soil. It is the most forgiving, get a good handle on things and after a few grows you can move up to Coco and then hydro. The reason why I would recommend this approach is pretty basic. The plants do grow faster in Coco than soil and faster in Ebb and Flow than Coco and so on all the way up to rockwool cubes, but along with faster growth comes problems happening quicker. You kind of have to learn to walk before you run.
