You mill it or buy it? Nice btw, I just can't do a wood floor in the kitchen.
please do not make the mistake I did and use MDF for the base boards. Stuff follows walls really well and points out great but does not hold up. If it gets wet, it swells up and looks like shit.
100% if you can swallow the cost.Between fiberboard and real wood- I'm choosing wood every time...........
Cheap Mdf baseboards.... oil based paint... your welcome. Make sure you paint before ya put em on so they are sealed
The oil base paint thing sounds really cool, but we cannot get it in California. Everything is water based other than spray cans. plus the minute you hit an outside corner with like the vacuum it blows up.100% if you can swallow the cost.
Let me guess KILLZ primer?^this
when I first got into snakes I got together with my buddy who was apprenticing in a cumstom furniture/cupboard shop. His boss was excited to help as he’d never worked on something like this.
they were trying to convince me to go with mdf but I was worried about the constant humidity and swelling (a Snake rack is a series of shelves with a heat supply and tight fitting bins in each shelf so if it swelling it’s trash)
I conceded to the expertise of the guy who’s been doing it for 40 years. We built it out of mdf. When all the pieces were ready he sent me to the paint store for an oil based primer they use to repaint in houses that have a fire and then “pick out the colour and finish you want from the porch paint and you’ll be able to pressure wash it if you want!”
well I have never tested his pressure washer theory but around 20 years later it still looks like the day we finished it and has seen 60-100% humidity countless spills, spray downs with sanitizer etc.
Yeah about the only thing that you can paint over permanent marker and it won't bleed through. That stuff is the bombI love that stuff.........
Hahaha pretty sure that’s exactly what it was. white and red can.Let me guess KILLZ primer?
