skwirlgirl you are awesome thank you for asking him.. That makes perfect sense now and nah I aint changing my rez every 4 days.. :D Thanks to all of your help on this thread too while I am thanking people.

I am running fatman recirc May 2010 with Great White Bacteria and nothing else, plus I don't foliage feed either. Only day 2 of 12/12 but shit they look nice.

P.S. Does anyone know if fatman has a CoCo Coir recipe? I am filling the rest of my room with CoCo Coir plants in a matter of weeks now it will start.

for coco you just add more Magnesium and Calcium. So, like 1.5% Mg instead of .5%

Yes, the medium makes all the difference in the world, and coco is an especially different beast.

I know that gets said so much that it is often taken as gospel, but...

Now I don't know which is actually true, or more true but my curiosity is certainly peaked. I am just interested in hearing Fatman's take.

Man does coco usually need so much calcium?
Fatmans part A is almost totally calcium nitrate.

In the meantime, perhaps this will help. It helped me greatly in getting my head around it. Oops! Forgot to ctrl+v.

That's because I was reading that link, and I want to publicly thank you for sharing it, I hadn't seen this before, and I'm already finding stuff I don't just want to read, but NEED TO READ. Thanks again!

Hey you guys I mixed up my micros (Not Fe) the remaining micros and they settle on the bottom of my jar. This is .075 liters @ 1000:1 fatman micros .03 Mo

Which is exactly why we have A+B mixes and this is fine right? Shake before usage?

Integral Hydroponics is an occasional guilty pleasure for me...I love to watch him rip apart advertising claims.

For what it is worth (possibly nothing) I have switched nutes to Scotts Hydro Pro plus Calcium Nitrate...

N/P/K/Ca/Mg/S is (from memory so don't hold me exactly to it) is 150/52/216/116/60/82 and I run at 80% of that. If coco really is a "different" medium you would think K and S would be way to high...and if K is high you would expect Mg/Ca problems. But this formula works deficiency free throughout the entire grow...not a worry in the world.

This plant is 3 weeks into flower and I think you can see the health...

Anyways...like I said I am curious to hear Fatman's take.

waywardson, just a heads up...the link you gave says

Q: Why has the relationship with Scotts changed?
A: Scotts had a contract with J.R. Peters, Inc. to test samples for them. The contract expired in June of 2002. The Scotts Co. chose not to renew.

I only mention it for when you go to buy from them again.

Does anyone happen to have the ingredients listed on a Canna coco A and B bottle?
and even the amounts of calcium etc it contains?

trying to find that is almost impossible. thanks gang

Found it,

Canna Coco A is: 4-0-1

Calcium is 4.5%
Density is 1176 g/l

derived from: Calcium Nitrate, and Potassium Nitrate
_________________________________________________

Canna Coco B is: 1-4-2

Magnesium is 1.2%
Sulphur is 1%

Density is 1108 g/l

Derived from: Magnesium Nitrate, Magnesium Sulphate, and Potassium Phosphate.

Coco A&B

part A
4ml/L NPKCa 188-0-39-212

part B
4 ml/L NPKMgS 44-77-74-53-44

total NPKCaMgS 232-77-113-212-53-44
they must be using voodoo, because the closest i got was 232-77-113-250-53-44
i even used yara to lower calcium - it's 17.5% too high. maybe somebody else can fine tune it better.

Ca(NO3)2_yara 131.5g
KNO3 4.18g

Mg(NO3)2 20.5g
MgSO4 34g
MKP 33.8g

1L concentrated solutions, 2.04 mS

interestingly, fatman preaches low P, except in this formula...which has more P than canna coco (?) he also uses more Ca:N than canna (which makes me think 250 ppm Ca isn't so bad).

If anybody can answer this: what is the outcome of double arrows vs single arrows? what is the relevance to P:Ca, P:Mg and K:Mg? how should i read the mulder chart?

Man you lost me with that mulder chart!

squarepusher....the place where I got my leonardite has a note that reads to the effect...

Never mix leonardite in a concentrate containing Calcium Nitrate. They do not say why but it may be better to mix it seperately or in with the B solution.

That ratio is way too concentrated ! Which salts did you use by the way ? I use iron, copper, manganese and zinc nitrates (which I believe are way more soluble than sulfates) to make a 1:500. You might want to email Daniel about this as I have no clue :s

I also wanted to say to those of you who have sent me PMs that I cannot answer them because I am a new member :dull, so I am not being rude, I just can't answer them :)

Also for those of you guys who like to make your own nutrients it would be great if you could contribute the formulations on the HydroBuddy Database thread so that I can compile them and send them to Daniel so that he can add them to the online database
