Good advice dankworth--you know what they say: "Loose lips..."

I think your approach to the issue, although it is very short and to the point, represents a far more realistic stance on the whole thing.

Inasmuch as you might've been trying to be simple and quick about replying, I think your "quickly once-over" perspective is actually quite profound, even if it's unintentional.

Realism is what is necessary to move this issue forward. If anyone wants things to change, federal law has to make a complete 180. Realistically the finger goes to congress on that one--and inexorably is drawn back to us as citizens as a result.

Until such a time as that occurs--we are all playing with fire, and anyone who didn't know that from the get-go was severely under-informed. Any type of finger pointing will not change that. If we really want this to go a different way--the ONLY way is to change the federal laws. Any effort spent in any direction but that one is a complete waste of time and energy.

If I give a monkey my banana to hold, and he eats it--is it my fault or the monkey's?

Now what if I gave it a second banana to hold and he eats that one too? How many bananas will I give the monkey before I realize what's happening?

It seems to me that putting up a candidate for Sheriff who will tell the Feds to f*cking mind their own business will send a loud and clear message to all those who care to listen that this will no longer be tolerated. He may not win, but I can promise that a candidate with that as a central plank in his platform will gain national attention, and will start wheels turning in counties across the country.

bananna=power? monkey=president? bananna+monkey=powerful president w/ ability to make these changes that you speak of in federal law, he can do executive orders if he really wanted to stop the raiding. Should we stop giving him the bananna if he isn't going to use it right? I point my finger at the system and those running it. why? because they have the power to change these things if they chose to do so. Obama says he wants the raids to stop yet he's done nothing to stop them, when he's clearly in a position of power. he doesn't have to answer to anyone but his puppeteers(monsanto/big pharma/etc.).
First the patriot act, now acta/pipa coming soon, censoring the internet. we are slowly losing all our rights.
