just right in my opinion,,hole with pencil to 1/4 deep under soil and water in,,that tap root is important,,when it hits bottom of pot plant takes off,also gives the root to get plant quicker without have to turn a circle in the cup

i had a seed this year that made 2 circles before it popped the ground,got about 2in tall died,uncovered the seed and found the 2 circle seed it was obstucted by a lava rock
