First grow attempt- 4 Runtz Photos

Also, temps sitting at 77 degrees after lights on for 4 hours. Gonna put the inline fan on its lowest setting again. My stretching didn’t really start until week 2 it’ll go wild sometime week 2 you’ll know when they’re stretching….

Yeah a lamp will work fine for the seedlings, just make sure they are warm and humid.

Did you get a controller for your inline fan? Inkbird has a humidity/temp controller for 30.00 right now on Amazon might be worth looking into if you didn’t get a controller
I can adjust the speed as much as I want, it’s just that the lowest setting is still a bit much. I was able to open the back vent of the tent and block all light from getting in, so hopefully this will cause no new problems.

Day 65, 8 of flower:
Light didn’t kick on until I unscrewed the bulb and put it back in. Temps at night seem to sit at 61 as the lowest, and get to around 75 during the end of lights on without the fan on. Hopefully I’ll be able to maintain temps with the LED light coming. other than that, nothing to add.

While they’re doing their thing, I’m starting my next batch of seeds. I got 5 germinating (1 already had an inch long tap root in less than a day) and just set up my veg tent. Got an oscillating fan, humidifier, thermometer, and hygrometer arriving later today, but what else do you guys think I should add? I got 5 seeds going but 4 fabric bots and 1 plastic pot. Plan to plant them all tomorrow, with the one with the smallest taproot to get the plastic pot. Will I need a humidity dome if I can manage to get humidity to 70-80%?

maybe an exhaust to help control temp and humidity… are you going straight to their final container from paper towel?

What variety and seed bank are you growing? Interested to follow along if you are doing another journal

If my 6” inline fan is too powerful for my flower tent, could I run it through my veg tent aswell? I have the ducting to run it through both.

ILGM’s runtz, but I might trade seedlings with someone I know that grows and attempt to grow 2 strains at once. This will be my second grow attempt, and I feel much more confident.

I’m closing in on the end of my first and really looking forward to my 2nd to fix my mistakes from my first grow. I’m going nuts and doing 3 different. G13 from premium cultivars, pink runtz from royal queen and I think purple scout from Greenpoint.

If you can make sure you have no light leaks through the exhaust tubing I’m sure the 6” would be enough. It could be tough on which tent you want to control with your controller. Might be hard to maintain 70% humidity in veg tent if you have it set to 50% for your flower tent or vice versa.

Yea, that’s true. My predicament is I need the carbon filter on in flower tent, but it’s just so strong I’d have to sacrifice temp. Luckily, temps are starting to go above freezing, so hopefully that will help warm it up late into flower. If not, I’ll have some purple leaves and slow growing bud. Maybe I’ll take this super powerful fan and use it to blow air out of the tent, kind of like a makeshift inline fan.

Yes that’s a good idea
How would you recommend doing it? I found something interesting that was posted on this forum years ago and wondered if this would be the best bet. I have my second LED light coming in this weekend, so I was thinking I could take the carbon filter and inline fan out of the flower tent when hanging the new light. If anyone else has any other ideas, I’m open to them. Also, how important is it to vent out my ducting outside? Will a 6inch carbon filter eliminate at least 90% of the smell?

I have absolutely no experience with carbon filters, I do run intake and exhaust fans, but haven’t used any filters . Is the filter supposed to filter from the outside in or inside out? That would ultimately dictate placement.

You can run it either way from what I’ve read, but everyone I know that grows personally has their carbon filter in their tent blowing out through their laundry to go outside the house.

Day 66, day 9 of flower:
My HPS light has been not turning on with the timer, I need to unscrew it and refasten it each time which is annoying. My TS3000 is said to arrive Friday, so hopefully just 3 more mornings of wrestling with the frame. Start of some signs of flowering are showing, thinking the second trellis net will go up in about a week. I want to know how much they’ll stretch before setting up the second net. Next time, I’ll be sure to get a net that reaches the edges of the tent.

Make a frame for it the Scrog out of pvc, easy and cheap and will help keep the edges from pulling in. Mine did the same thing…

Day 67, day 10 of flower:
Some leaves edges are pointing downwards, do we think it’s an excess of nitrogen? They didn’t get any nutes last watering, was planning on giving them some next on friday or so. It was below freezing last night outside, but the lowest temp the tent got was 62. Sits at around 73 during lights on, rh 50.

Day 68, day 11 flower:
Still some curling, thinking I’ll water with nutes tomorrow. Not sure if they’re over or underfed. Pistils forming already on most bud sites, when should I install the second trellis? Was thinking that I would leave the outer bud sites higher up than the center so they can try and have equal amounts of light. Potted all seeds, one already sprouted. Do I need a humidity dome if rh is 90 in tent? Got my TS1000 on 25% power high up. Gonna install the TS3000 tomorrow morning and change up the fan and carbon filter.
