Lol far from king. Just figured out what works. Still have a loti learning to do. And improvements to make. I geek like I have the very basics down, and now it's time to turn it up. I've barely entered the world of growing. I've only grown from seed, And only seeds I've bought.
My system needs improvements, I wanna get back to rdwc. I'd also like to get back to spraying the roots 24/7 instead of being submerged. Something like aeroponics but not really true aero imo.
I've done some experimenting with my pumps. I noticed when I'd turn them off for a 1/2 hour or so when doing flushes that they really liked it and any pythium or other jazz in the tubes would release. so, 4 times a day I run them dry for a 1/2 hour. I've noticed some NEW solid white roots today! Made me very happy. O.. also, some cool info on
Hydroguard I got today:
James, thank you for choosing to grow with
Botanicare, we appreciate your interest in
Hydroguard! Like most microorganisms, the
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens in
Hydroguard do grow best at warm temperatures, but cold water should not be an issue. The optimum temperature for
B. amyloliquefaciens begins in the upper 80s (Fahrenheit), which is why
Hydroguard is effective preventing incidents of root rot, which also proliferate at high temperatures. However, as long as the container is not left to freeze, and the nutrient solution water fed to the plants does not freeze, the microbes should remain active and alive. Please let us know if you have any further questions, and thanks again for growing with us!
Respectfully yours,
