Nice looking house you got coming there brother!!Sorry for lack of updates.
Plants are doing great, just finished framing out most of the greenhouse tonight with my son.
Will update with more pics once the poly is in place and the plants in their permanent home
Would 2 layers of greenhouse film work in the same manner?Brick the bottom sides to make a thermal wall. Saves heat in cold winters and double coat the panels/ or sheet, meaning do 2 layers. One from the inside like drywall and one on outside like roof and sides. The subsequent 2 layers trap heat to ensure you can grow till late into winter with supplemented lights. Build 2 vents open shutter style front to open with vent and back to act as exhaust. Run wiring , to box outside the unit, then terminate it there, use a 240v feed from the house like a generator style plug. This satisfies the code on not having permanent wiring , it’s a extension cord at that point of time and it’s perfectly legal. Build ac and dehumidifier into the house , Mount dehumidifier up high, install plugs for fans up top. Lights to plugs that is going to a central sub panel, use a 240v timer as the trigger to turn on all lights based on wattage you will run, 240v will give you 2 legs of 120v each at 15 or 20 amps, if higher run a thicker gauge wire to appropriate breaker.
Yes 2 sides with air trapped inside is the insulating factor . So any 2 materials that will trap air , the sun heating it will radiate heat and stop loss of temps. Very basic principles of heat load and loss. All my houses are built this way. I even double layer acrylic panelsWould 2 layers of greenhouse film work in the same manner?
Thanks man for all these great tips. Really appreciated!Brick the bottom sides to make a thermal wall. Saves heat in cold winters and double coat the panels/ or sheet, meaning do 2 layers.
