It is an actual wire hanger thats plastic jacketed. I take some diagonal snips and cut them up. I fold each piece in half and curl the ends l so if they do hit roots they only pass by them vs tearing into them. I doubt they are hitting roots though. My first set of training hangers I cut were very short and didn't go deep and now the training hangers are longer and go deeper into medium but they are towards the outer edges of bucket. I really doubt I have hit roots or if I did no damage I'm thinking because I rolled the ends of wire.Great thread man. I'm looking at yours and couple of other first time grow threads and it's like, shit, I need to produce. You guys are knocking it out. The one thing, other than watering guidance, that keeps resonating with me is canopy management and I think you're on the way to knocking that wicket down. Got me thinking that with the landrace heavy sativa and cheese hybrid mix in my closet now, LST will be the way to go. I like your plastic coated wire hanger thing. Are they actual coated wire or more solid plastic? I just worry about causing root damage? You see that as much risk to mitigate?
Great job and best of luck on this run :)
I got ya. Know what you're what type hanger you've got. coo. thx man for the tutorial too; sounds like you were thinking 'bout things and you've probably got a better eye on the roots doing the hydro thing than I am doing soil. I can't see shit and it absolutely fucking freaks me out a bit :) THXIt is an actual wire hanger thats plastic jacketed. I take some diagonal snips and cut them up. I can only see the roots come through the bottoms of my buckets. I actually got this idea from someone doing soil. Nevertheless if you aren't comfortable with it, there are other ways of being able to train. I have only grown outdoors, never put much research into growing even then. I was told do this do that every once in a while and pretty much just let them grow. This is my first major indoor and first training. I don't claim to be an expert or that I know wtf I'm doing by any means. If I suggested anything would be comfortable with what you're planning to do, if not check with the community before doing anything.I got ya. not even a foot out of the bucket yet.the training looks great.....You have enough now that I would flip them once they are mature....meaning once they show sex.....also did you take clones of each one as you are running from seed right.....that way if one of them is really a bad ass pheno you can keep her for ever
i believe flo will stretch between 1.5/2x so they will be good size when done if flipped in the next week or 2
You don't seem to be doing too poorly :)I don't claim to be an expert or that I know wtf I'm doing by any means.
yeah they are going good and learning a lot about horticulture and loving it. I can honestly say hydro is real fun and amazing seeing results daily. Just waiting to see the quality results and yield results. You don't seem to be doing too poorly :)
But nah, looks like you've got a real nice even canopy that will get really good, even light.
I don't care what any soil guy says, nothing compares to hydro on day to day growth. I'm surprised almost ever grow in dwc how far they move along. It's like one day it's a baby, the next it's about your size then all of a sudden your waiting for a 5' monster to finish out.Yeah

Man if I happen to be away for a couple days I'm always amazed. Can't wait to get my 10gal bucket rolling. Won't have to babysit as much. I like being able to go a couple days without having to deal with anything.I have found the same with coco.....I feed every day.....deep in flower 3x a day.....explosive growth.........the only thing I can compare it to is the effing dandilion in my back yard

yeah for sure.....I have a 20gal brute trash can.....but I still check every day......I get anxiety if I am gone for more than a day.....good thing I only grow from Nov-Jan/Feb
Looking real good bro. And yea I still get like that sometimes when I'm bored. And it was horrible when I first started. I always wanted to be doing something good to help em. But over the years you kinda get like, " just grow already lol. That's why I'm always trying something new. Keep it interesting.View attachment 591486 View attachment 591487 View attachment 591488 View attachment 591489 View attachment 591490 View attachment 591491 I tend to it every day and train, even if it's minuscule. It's so boring home all day, so this is my entertainment for some portions of the day. I love every moment. I will say when I dump and refill the res my pH does need to be adjusted more often and then as the week progresses it seems to slow down. I have a few pics I snapped before lights out.

I really recommend ph perfect from AN. It only rises towards the end and doesn't require adjusting. But your killing it bro. Especially for the first grow. Just wait till they blow up in stretch.View attachment 591486 View attachment 591487 View attachment 591488 View attachment 591489 View attachment 591490 View attachment 591491 I tend to it every day and train, even if it's minuscule.
