I know it sounds totally counter intuitive, but we have found watering the basket in anyway slows down root growth. The humidity above the water line is perfect for growing roots and they don't need any help.

Those bitches will wilt in no time without water, try it. I think they preveg in a table with roots shitting out the pots before the UC ever comes into play.

Kinda like saying I never drive down the freeway without the convertible top down in a room full of pickup truck drivers. Not everyone has the same setup.

even without the veg method i use i wouldnt ever top feed any type of dwc. simply bring the water level almost to the roots and let the bubbles do the work from below. they know where the water is and they know how to find it.

peace,

HAm

If there is a way, we have tried it. Aeroflow, Bubble trays, 4 inch cubes, 1 inch cubes strait into the UC, etc etc etc. The run in filthy Porn was in 4 inch cubes and once they got put in the UC they never got watered a single time. 100% dry rockwol.

I know, it is counter intuitive for us too. But it works amazingly.

How do you get them to stay happy and not wilt to death while sensitive after getting new toes, reduced light?

The drying RW ensures they will go searching for and populate the aerated nute solution below. Make the rockwool too inviting and the plants have less incentive to get busy rooting into the solution.

So just put a saturated cube in the basket/UC and let it ride?

Saves me so much bullshit without dipping into each bucket and pouring on the medium.

You're hilarious bro. Since the advice has changed so much with the times I think my technique is due for an overhaul. I want in on this 3-4 bows per light and 30% THC stuff.

You guys are funny. Its very difficult to find stores in co or ca for that matter with anything over 20%.

Pushing our strains into the upper 20's and hopefully 30's is the result of maximizing the potential of the UC - a process that could not of happened without the help, advice, and support of Daniel. His help (on over a dozen occasions) has always been so accurate, poignant, and exhaustive that i have never needed any other assistance. One conversation with him has literally pulled whole runs out of the crapper over night - or put the polish on runs that were "almost there."

IMO the best thread to look at for the process of how you improve your run is "nutrient profiles for the UC," from there you should give him a call or shoot an email with the more specific questions that those processes in the thread will uncover for you.

I feel that anyone can do record yields and record thc content with the UC (its that amazing) but it isn't like flipping a switch. It is a long and tedious process that requires an incredible ammout of communication with your plants and utilization of techniques that are not part of "normal" Cannabis growing methodologies.

Ditto

I only rock the wool 1.5s 3s or 4s depending on where i am. all sit well in the basket and thrive with no top water. i let the water coax the roots through the baskets the 100% humidity below the lid aids in this process. dont get lazy roots.

Peace

So its now been 2 weeks sine I started in the UC and havent seen much progress yet. They all have roots in the water but 1 of the plants seem to be doing fine the other 5 are behind and showing some weird growth. I don't quite know whats up with them any input would be appreciated.

2ml of H&G
1ml of Calimagic

What does your source water look like?

I would half the solution, then when you refill add IBA and UC roots and your girls should blow up.

I use a tall boy dechlorinator and sediment filter. Water comes out of the filter at about ~30ppm.
IBA?? how much and where can I get it?
