Germinated 5 Garlic Knots bx1 seeds from @MtGrownCanna ; they are almost ready to pull cuts and flip. Here's the first pics I got of them last week. Will keep this thread updated. Sadly, one exhibited a mosaic virus and was culled. I still have 5 left to hopefully get some stinky girls.

RIP, GK#6. You never had a chance :-( I don't believe this was because of seed contamination; there was an R4 clone in the vicinity for a couple days, and it is a known carrier of TMV. It was removed immediately from the spot.

What's the indication of TMV--
the color and the deformed leaf???...

yes. They will discolor, usually one one side of the leaf or the other, and the leaf tissue will die. as a result the leaf will be pulled to the side and look funny. But let's not turn this into a TMV discussion; this is about the Garlic Knots! :) Stoked if any of my phenos turn out like MGC's keeper.

Sorry;
was curious--
thought I might learn something...

Fuck man!! Can't believe it spreads that easily, but looks like it did. This set is very much indica dominant. I have high hopes!! Your Matilda is a little beast. I'll be giving her to @NaturalTherapy along with those seeds hopefully this week, after taking a few clones for myself today..

@marz- Garlic Knots is documented on my thread in the breeders section. It was the last grow and the one before that I grew the original cross out to make the bx1s before handing off the Alien4... There are also grows of the Alien 4 and NaturalTherapy posted some female Garlic Breath pics up. I used a male Garlic Breath from NT, crossed it to the Alien 4, then back crossed to the Alien 4. Hands down, a favorite of all who try it. I can't say that about any of my other works.

That's good news. She is a feisty vegger and trains quickly. She'll stretch a little and be ready to support her in late flower. Wait til you get a nose full of her perfume. One of her daughters is looking incredible and I think we may have some lemonheadband in the bowl in a month or so. Feel free to bless up Matilda wherever you see fit; hoping they respect her beautiful name :-) It has a special meaning.

Soooo... The plants are not very branchy; trying to grow straight up and tower over everything close. However, this is a common trait of male plants (I guess so the pollen can drop down to the females). I managed to get 4/5 males. The last plant standing has not shown yet, and seems to be the most branchy of them all. Hopefully I'll see pistils soon so we can flower her out.

If you had ever tried MGC's Garlic Knots keeper, you'd know these seeds are worth going through. These males have some very interesting aromas. I intend to bust the rest of these beans in a couple months; I have some other gear to test in the meantime. I have been thinking about that Black Forest Fire, also.

Will grab shots of the final tester if she turns out to be a female. Hate for this thread to hit a glitch, having nothing to flower out! Sometimes the cookie crumbles no matter how careful you are not to drop it. Sheesh.

I was blessed to receive MGC's keeper cut along with the beans; you bet yer lifesavers I'm putting it into production. One of my favorite smokes in a long time. I am pretty much over anything fruity unless it's lemon. Gimme Garlic!!!!

Good things going on here!! Some awesome crosses coming! Very interesting.

@SpiderK I agree, garlic breath is impressive, I'm looking at f2 gen I made soon. Must find Hogsbreath pheno!!

Sorry to here that bro. Talk about bad luck. One note....the bx1 clone you have is different than what you smoked. It's pure lemon funk....more like an OG than sweet pine indica. I'll throw some pics up when my buddy gets back from Italy. I think his is in week 5 or 6. Grows more like the Alien 4 mom....stretches before and after the flip, so watch the height with her.. Again sorry for the bad luck. You can do whatever you want with my seeds.....never a need to ask, bro. Make babies!! Hope you have at least one bx1 female to check out. Until those 4 show male, don't toss out. The Alien 4 is stretchy as hell and requires super cropping....so too with the GKbx1...

Ok, the last one is throwing pistils, so I have something to flower! Will keep this thread updated with shots of her as she progresses.

...and here she is. Sorry took so damn long to grab a pic and upload. I think she'll go 10 weeks and she smells almost identical right now to MGC's selected keeper of the GK bx1. Citrus Kush, very reminiscent to me of the Golden Goat. Smells like candy!

I did not train her at all, as I usually grow out the seedlings after taking a cut or two. I think this cut would yield fairly well with some training. I have MGC's selected keeper cut about 4 weeks behind this one, and I will compare the two. Currently they smell almost identical.
