Flipping the lights off right before harvest?

forgot who posted it but apparently 48 hr of darkness is the sweet spot...he did 12, 24, 48 i think

Theres a video with test results on page 1. The real challenge is going to be getting trich photos in 36 hours.

Kinda but not really because then half the plant is still photosynthesizing and processes between that and the calvin cycle differ. Not rocket science but not so simple either its not something thats easily quantifiable.

Third group, cuttings in tap water and darkness.

I've tried both. It's basically when I have the time to get to them, so sometimes the 24 can turn into 48 hours.

Everything I've read has basically just said it's to generally speed maturation along. That and I believe the nutes get sent down to the root zone during night so you cut the stalk in the dark and it cant bring nutes up the stalk when you flip the light on to cut everything out

I’m going to do final flush “cold” on day the lights go out before the 48 dark. Will post before and afters hopefully see some colour and frost show up?

I got tired of waiting on the science so after 68 days and then another 48 hrs of darkness they were harvested today in a brightly lit room.

To really test the theory place a paper bag over a cola for two days before harvesting a plant.

Somehow i feel the cuttings in water and darkness will be the best looking trichs. The control plants had a cool cloudy day today and rain all day tomorrow.

So went on a date with my girls this morning, they brought their friend amber trichrome to the diner must have picked her up last night..

Took some before and after shots of both phenos.
Going to do 24 hr darkness as ambers have moved in fast. Didn’t get to do ice water but did do a colder than usual flush last night..

I don't.
1- I want as much moisture out of the plant as I can get when I harvest
2- Plants generally uptake water and nutrients during lights on, so with the lights off, it may just be soggy soil and extra humidity in the tent.

what sort of noticeable improvements? Would this not slow down growth during the later weeks?

Who flushed for weeks while the buds are still growing? Not me. One week tops after the bud swell.
