6DAY VEG
Berry bastard d6 veg

little friendly advice, start your plants in smaller containers next time....plants dont usualy start noticable upward growth untill after there roots have hit the bottom of the pots there in...ahh and being there in five gallon buckets that could take a hell of a long ass time...
just saying:bong2:

tell me more about this!
how long do you let it go while its rootbound

If so when do outdoor plants roots hit the bottom and get bigger? lol. i started them from seed in 16oz cups under flourescents. i just recently transplanted. my smallest ones are 9 days old in that pic and their 100% indicas. your plants lights are farther above your plants and prob mh's which is why they are elongated, mine were started under flourescents with the light always about 1in away which kept them compact. but hey short dense fat nugs aren't bad huh

Don't confuse outdoor growing with indoor, DTF. A look into the soil, shows the difference. Outdoors, plants drop a large taproot, whereas potted plants do not. Indoories like to develop surface roots, you rarely see on an outdoor plant. Jaws is spot on here. I can tell you from experience, those plants in 5ers will take their sweet time growing vertically. My method is to plant seeds in 4" deep pots to promote a better female ratio, then one transplant into a one or 2 gallon container after vertical growth begins. This is how 7 day or other such short veg times are achieved. Triple those times to obtain a similar height, when you put a small plant into a large bucket.

hello fire:)
first off you CANT compair indoor to outdoor growing, in any shape or form those are two TOTALY different beast.so lets just go ahead and get away from that subject ok...

in post #4 you said they were 3 and 5 weeks old and that you have been waiting two months to flower, AHH OK then in post #7 you said the little ones were 9days so please keep on track...

im guessing when you said you have been waiting 2months to flower you were indeed talking about the bigger plants in the back...those plants look good and are most difinitly ready to roll into flowering...

now as far as my grow go's yorur TOTALY WRONG my plants were started in 20oz styro's once they were popped and showed TAP-ROOT, and as you can clearly see in this pic they were INFACT grown under flor's just like yours were...

lights moved up to show seedlings.
PICT0284

and again your WRONG my girls NEVER see an MH bulb there grown under ONLY HPS once they get TPed into 3gallon pots, the pic in post #5 was taken under HPS belive it or not....

now listen FIRE im not trying to disrespect you or dog your grow, like i said above just trying to give some advice...if you dont like it thats fine thats your call, but again i was just trying to help...

bottom line i think you getting in a hurry because your ready to flower the bigger two and your just hoping the OTHER 8 will take off once you get on with it....never rush your garden it does you know good and causes more problems then anything else....

little more advice if i were you I'D put that 600w inbetween the two 400 and place the two bigger plants on either side under the 400w and leave the smaller ones under the 600 as best as you can...

but in the end i would REALLY give the littles more veg time for sure...

Ynd,
umm not sure what else your looking for my friend?? and i have no idea what you mean by THIS STATEMENT ""how long do you let it go while its rootbound""
peace:)

GROUP SHOT 6D-VEG
Good shot under HPS d6 veg

TAKEN UNDER 1000W HPS.

thanks for the advice. i was under the impression that you thought i just put seeds in 5 gal buckets lol. but this is my first grow and i will try this next time. i do not have a extra veg room or i would veg longer. i want to get all my plants on the same schedule, for i acquired seeds and lights all at different times. i got the small plants seeds for REAL cheap and ANY bud that comes off them is more than first planned. plus some are going to be males so i will lose about half. For the lights, the 600 has to be on the end to balance power distribution lol, for this settup is a section of my bedroom.

and farmer john, you dont use more than 2 gal for soil? i was under the impression the more soil you have the bigger the plant will get, except for the little plant in large soil thing we were talking about. but than again my, warlock is pretty huge and i planted that small plant in LOTS of soil.

going to sub this thread so i can see how you do my friend..
grow on bro:smiley_joint:

hey fire:smiley_joint:
you do have a point about the pot size and the soil amount, BUT remember its all for not if you do not give your plants the time they need in veg....you want big plants give them SPACE and give them plenty of veg time, the bigger they are in veg the bigger there going to be once you flip them...

look at it this way MOST plants DOUBLE in size once you flip them some will TRIPLE, so say you flip at 6" you could end up with a plant thats only a foot hight or maybe foot-half and to me that would be a waste of strain and your time...thats double true in your case seeing your useing 5gallon pots, if you were just wanting a little bud from them you should have put them in a two litter bottle or perhaps a 1gallon container.....

if your not trying to use all the soil for a good veg then your wasting you money on all that unused soil, 5gallon pots i'd say one would need atleat a month of good hard-core growing to get everything out of that size and amount of soil being used....
grow on:RastaBong:

its all good soil was cheap, whitney farms 20 bucks for 8 pots. judging from your nice little pots and multiple plants you have done this a time or two before! i have never grown my own bud! i just want it now! haha. Next time ill do it all right with lots o veg time.

Use the largest veg room in the world then, fire! Stick the dwarfs outside in the sun, if you have a secure place to put them, when you go 12/12 with the big plants. As small as they are, they shouldn't attract any attention. Once they are @ least 8" tall, put them in the flowering room with the others.

You are correct that the larger the container, the larger the resulting plant will be. That is if you vegetate them long enuff for them to utilize the extra soil. I grow SOG & ScrOG for the most part & the whole idea is to have a whole lotta plants, in a limited area. So smaller plants, are mandatory for me. I use three basic sizes as a result. 1/2 gallon, 1 gallon & for mothers & special plant runs, 2 gallon. You could check out my grow log & see photos of my 2 litre 7 plant bundles in flower. Give you an idea what I'm talking about here. They get vegged a max of 7 days & trained to one main colas.

Now you have plants in 5ers, but want to start flowering them @ 3"! The result will be small plants, that probably could have been run to full flower in a container one tenth the size!

oh well we'll see. Im already into 5 days flowering. in the orange buckets, the plants are 4"(one is a mutant) and the others they are 7". My warlock is about 2.5ft tall x 2ft wide so i needed to get that rollin as its gonna be huge.

there will be pics soon, the plants started showing sex today we found 2 males of the 8 and the sour cream looks like its going to be a hermi ( Femmed seed ) but atleast that warlock is blowin up! We're friends BTW, the 600w is mine and the seeds for the warlock and sour cream i got though attitude back on the quadruple thunder special, Im in an Appt so i cant have a setup like this but im going to start a tent soon, every day i see these i want some in my house too lol. Next round will be a way better setup, we're going to move and get a whole room to grow.

Update

it has buds! sour cream is not hermi, and the white stuff in soil is diatomaceous earth to control my small gnat population
